I just can't wrap my head around how this live streaming works. Youtube is basically covering this on even days, while Game Time takes over on odd days.

in Italy, YT have a very random availability (and it's very limited when it comes to on-demand, there are a lot more games available if you watch them live)...

Gametime instead works for every match (live and on-demand)...

the problem, as I wrote in the past days, is that YT has a very useful app on basically every smart TV/connected device, meanwhile Gametime has no app at all...and not even full chromecast support (you have to rely on awful mirroring)...moreover, for the on-demand stuff, they have a mega-spoiler already in the title of any file...:wall:

unfortunately, my subscription to the Japanese IPTV expired last week (not gonna pay another 30$ for 1 more month only for those few Premier 12 games)...

I also found out some interesting sat tv feeds, but they are @ 55.5° West, which is impossible to reach for me (there's another palace beside the one where I live, stopping my west view at 30° (and my dish is too small, in any case)...:(

...and :CAN Canada loses to :AUS Australia for the fifth straight time.

Now we'll have to wait for the game between :KOR South Korea and :CUB Cuba to find out who's the last team to go through

:CAN Canada is mathematically out...:(

:CUB qualify only by winning against :KOR Korea, otherwise :AUS Australia advance to the Super-Round...

p.s. and if this happens, :MEX Mexico have the biggest chance to grab the American Olympic Quota, as they have won the direct match-up against their at-that-point only rivals from the :USA USA...

poor Cuba!

it's so sad to see them playing this bad...:(

6-0 after 5 innings for the Koreans...it would take more than a miracle for the Caribbeans to comeback from this...

the Australians right now are ready to take some champagne off the fridge...

Some rather uneventful matches in this preliminary stage...

yeah, in Baseball it happens more often than not...

it's the nature of the game...if you get a pitcher who's not in his best shape, the game easily gets broken (and most of the times, boring)...

but this Cuban team is really breakin' my heart...

and it's all over...

:KOR South Korea win 7-0 against :CUB Cuba and therefore :AUS Australia qualify (together with the Koreans) to the Super-Round...

:CAN Canada and :CUB Cuba are out and won't be able to play for an Olympic spot in this tournament (though, they will have more chances next Spring, first at the American Qualifying tournament and then at the Global Qualifying tournament)...

WBSC Premier12 Super Round schedule announced

The six teams that are heading to the Super Round have been confirmed.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation today announced the 2019 WBSC Premier12 Super Round schedule, which will be played over 12 games from 11-16 November at the Chiba’s ZOZO Marine Stadium and the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

2019 Premier 12 Full Schedule, here:

https://premier12.wbsc.org/en/2019/schedule-and-results

World No. 4 Chinese Taipei and No. 6 Mexico will officially kick off the Super Round on Monday, 11 November, at 12:00 JST at ZOZO Marine Stadium, with No. 7 Australia and No. 1 Japan following at 19:00.

In a rematch of the 2015 Premier12 Final, No. 2 USA and No. 3 Korea, the defending champions, will open together at 19:00 at the iconic Tokyo Dome.

Day 1 Super Round starting pitchers will be announced at the pre-event press conference on Sunday, 10 November.

Day 2 of the Super Round features a clash between the two top-ranked baseball nations in the world -- Japan and USA -- at the Tokyo Dome, while rivals Korea and Chinese Taipei go head to head at ZOZO Marine Stadium, and Oceania’s top baseball country Australia will meet Mexico in the day’s opener.

Mexico, Japan and Korea won their groups and will enter the Super Round carrying over their respective Opening Round head-to-head victories over the US, Chinese Taipei and Australia, who will enter 0-1.

In Group C, Australia (+0.064), Canada (+0.046) and Cuba (-0.102) all finished with a 1-2 record, with Australia having the team-quality balance (TQB) tie-break advantage, which catapulted the Australian National Team into the Super Round.

World No. 5 Cuba, No. 8 Netherlands, No. 9 Venezuela, No. 10 Canada, No. 11 Puerto Rico and No. 12 Dominican Republic have all been eliminated from the global competition.

Olympic berth

The higher finisher between Mexico and the USA will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as the top team from the Americas.

Either Australia, Chinese Taipei or defending Olympic champions South Korea will qualify into the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as the top team from the Asia/Oceania region

:MEX Mexico started their campaign in the Super-Round with a convincing win over :TPE Chinese Taipei, 2-0 the final score (with the 2 runs scored in the 5th and 6th inning against a fading starter, Chiang Shao-Ching...and a great team effort by the pitching staff, only 3 hits and 3 base-on-balls given up in total by the 6 guys who took the mound for MEX)...

so far, :MEX Mexico are undefeated and they're getting closer to earn the Olympic spot for the American continent (even if they still have to look at the US boys, who don't look so strong, but they're definitely not to be underestimated either)...

:AUS Australia vs :JPN Japan & :USA United States vs :KOR South Korea are next, in about half an hour...

close, but not quite! :AUS Australia gave :JPN Japan a good scare, as they took a 2-0 (soon to be 2-1) early lead that they could maintain until the 7th inning, when Japan took advantage of the lack of pitching depth of the Aussie team and tied the game.

Finally, in the 8th the hosts somehow also found the way to win today's match and keep their unbeaten record, together with Mexico and South Korea...

Final score, :JPN Japan, 3 b. :AUS Australia, 2

at the Tokyo Dome, instead, the :KOR Koreans didn't show any mercy against the young :USA American team...

first, they hit a 3-run homer in the first inning and then their experienced pitchers gave the talented but still impatient and undisciplined US hitters a lesson on how to contain the opposing hitting power and how to limit the damage with runners on base...

as a result, the US boys, despite summin'up 13 hits and 16 left-on-base, could score only 1 run, which was definitely not enough to match the Koreans...

Final score, :KOR South Korea, 5 b. :USA USA, 1

Tomorrow, another full set of games awaits for us: :AUS Australia vs :MEX Mexico @ Noon (local time) / 4 a.m. CET and then :KOR South Korea vs :TPE Chinese Taipei (ZOZO Marine Stadium) and :USA USA vs :JPN Japan (Tokyo Dome), both starting at 7 p.m. (local time) / 11 a.m. CET
