Polish ES is obviously showing Hurkacz's fifth set instead of Sharapova vs Williams about to start

Sounds like that was a pretty good choice :p

Meanwhile Halep and Kvitova are out and Nadal didn't even have to play Kokkinakis, who withdrew, while Djokovic' shoulder wasn't looking good at all.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Hurkacz still lost

Yeah but I'd prefer any 5th set of whoever over any other match just starting (especially if it has Williams in it :p ).

Much like Eurosport and/or Dutch TV (when they have the rights) often annoy me by always 'having' to show Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, blabla. Most of the time that ends up being an incredibly one-sided match, while lesser known players are battling out great matches.

There's the EURO part in Eurosport so they'll show mostly European players at any given Grand Slam. So expect more Wozniacki & Halep over the likes of Keys and even Stephens. It's the USO schedule that favors the local players who get the prime-time slots, no way Gauff vs Babos would be on one of showcourts without the Gauff hype and her being American too.

And Serena. Because we all have to see Serena win her super exciting matches 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-2 and so on (with luckily more and more exceptions nowadays) and so whatever they do, Eurosport will show it.

McNally actually took a set away from her. Seems like another case of Serena blowing a set here & there to some teens or minnows b4 someone really whacks up her from QF onwards.

And there it is, Djokovic retired against Wawrinka with a shoulder injury. Of course the full stadium applauded and supported him.....oh wait, they booed, because they paid and their gladiator gave up. Which brings the number of consecutive years in which the US Open crowd didn't have scandalous behaviour from 0 back to 0.

If there’s anything Americans fans are best at, its creation controversy.

Saw it last year. Anyone booing these athletes should be kicked out of the stadium and get a ban for the next 5 years. Losers.
