I would really like to see the IOC have a pool of tripartite spots that can be awarded in any individual events at the Winter Olympics, since often times countries without much of a winter sports tradition have their strongest athletes in sports where it is very difficult to qualify.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind like 2 per continent per gender.

Is it possible to qualify for both the distance and sprint races if an athlete gets under 300 FIS points on both rankings? The document doesn't specifically mention whether or not C.3.2 and C.3.3 are cumulative or not.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

I think Alpine Should have been cut to 8-10 as well.

Impossible to compare to cross-country skiing though, since in alpine skiing specialism between the events is a much bigger deal.

It's not qualification, it's eligibility

Right, confused the things. We're trying to figure out exactly what a certain Totallympian has to do to qualify, since it'd be pretty dumb to rely on the national federation for that information in this matter, considering their track record of being...well, not great.

But then again, these exotic athletes mostly have questionable (if any) connection with nations they represent. That would just cause more athletes to make citizenship changes in other sports too.

Universality of participation in Winter sports is a sensitive subject. Because, you know, Winter sports are not very universal to begin with. :dunno:

And that wraps it up!

Quite a big change in biathlon :yikes:
It is possible for @brunamoura to qualify since there’s better more NOCs that can qualify, and there’s reallocation @heywoodu. I actually think this qualification system is worse than Pyeongchang 2018 though. Thanks for the links @intoronto

Curling Mixed Doubles gets 10 pairs now, hopefully we actually see some new countries qualify.
