*So, since everything is focused mainly on the K4, the poor Peter Gelle basically lost his olympic dream, since he was lately informed that the K2 Gelle/Botek (traditional medal contenders and training and preparing on daily basis pair for a couple of years now) was suddenly and immediately dismised in order to put Adam Botek into the K4 (I mean, yes now the K4 looks seriously super strong on paper) but Gelle will have to fight for Tokyo in K1 (which let say the trust, is quite impossible to win the quota in this event, because there many quota contenders that are experienced and trained in K1)

+ our chance to earn quota in K2-1000 is now definitely out of any contention thanks entering the newly created pair Gacsal/Jakubík selected to represent us. They will not even qualify for the semifinals in Szeged lol

It looks now we will qualify for Tokyo only the K4, the federation showed once again that all other classes are non-essential, vain and unnecessary for them...

Let´s hope Ivana will somehow gain qnother quota in the W K1 to not be represented in Tokyo only in one event

But you can be represented in the other Men's K events if you get a quota in K4? The 4 athletes you qualify with the K4 quota can also compete in K2 and K1 events (with max. two boats per event).

Right. But I do´t see them do it, they will focus on the K4 and avoid losing energy in other events.

I was writing about Gelle, poor guy was literally sacrified few days before the worlds after preparing himself with Botek last couple of years for Tokyo K2-1000 (I stll think they would have a chance for medal in that event) now he had to re-focus in the singles on few days to try the impossible and win a quota in a event where only 5 guys will earn Olympic pass and having advantage because competing in K1 for some years.

Yeah, it's strange how you have sacrificed a K2 quota like that. Meanwhile we decided to not have Kozák in our women's K4 boat, because it's much more important for us to get all 18 athlete quotas in Szeged than to win gold medals. The fact that we can have two boats in the C1, K1 and K2 events makes it very important for us to send the largest team possible.

Well, for us canoeing sprint is somehow always associated with K4. This was another proof about that. they have no shame to even safriying other athletes dreams just to ensure the K4 to being the strongest possible...but, well, who knows, maybe there also something else behind this decision we don´t see, relationships problems in the crew, who knows, we´ll probably never know that.

Oh, I´m pretty sure, you´ll win the full amount of quotas already on the home water. Hungary and Germany is just another supperior level of sprint canoeing, there no discussions about that,
