Ooooh scandal. Once again from Italy.

Basically their riders were preparing to go, but FISE withdrew them because they don't want to finish last.

Detailed start list for Grand Prix.

It will be a historic moment for :SVK Slovakia when Bugan enters the ring at 12:50 today. :cheer: Meanwhile, there was only a single withdrawal before the event. Sadly, it was Polona Kalan, meaning no :SLO in Rotterdam.

Preview for the Olympic qualification battle:

:FRA France - France was drawn first, which is a position nobody wants. I kind of expect them to qualify, even if they don't necessarily deserve it. Their strongest combination Barbancon & Sir Donnerhall have a really poor piaffe though. Judges usually massacre poor piaffes at big events, so let's see what happens here... First day could be crucial for them.

:SUI Switzerland - Wientzek-Plage could go over 71%. However, even if Wettstein puts together a decent test this time, Switzerland will still have to count either Aeberhard or Lenherr. That is not helpful for their cause.

:DEN Denmark - They will qualify easily. Both Dufour and Bachmann are expected to score around 78%, putting Denmark a country mile ahead of all unqualified teams...

:FIN Finland - Henri Ruoste & Rossetti are shooting stars of 2019. They could potentially reach mid-70s... Stegars and Fabricius-Bjerre have enough experience to put forward some decent tests, even if breaking 70% is unlikely. Mikaela Soratie will just participate, in yet another dubious selection for Finnish team (they kind of have a reputation for weird selections)...

:BEL Belgium - As always, Belgians have a very balanced team on paper, but they are usually hit or miss (mostly miss). Laurence Roos usually overperforms at big events, however...

:LUX Luxembourg - Luxembourg has an interesting strategy. They put their strongest rider as first, their second strongest rider as second, and their weakest link as third! They could potentially sit in an Olympic qualification position by tomorrow afternoon, but Skarsoe will probably remove them from such position. Skarsoe & So Dark are only really established in their extended walk...

:IRL Ireland - Irish have a really interesting team. They lack team participation experience big time, however Reynolds, Merveldt and Holstein have plenty of individual experience between themselves... They definitely stand a chance, provided that Kate Dwyer is a discard score.

:AUT Austria - Austrians are missing their two best riders. This probably leaves them with only one 70% combination, and likely no chance for Olympic team quailfication...

:POR Portugal - Portugal has a team of 4 Lusitanos, which is quite cool. Caetano has plenty of experience and should be able to lead this team strongly. Torrao, Torres and Nogueira have all been posting really impressive scores all season long, but they collectively lack championship experience, what could be hurtful for the Portuguese chances...

Overall, this event could be the most exciting of all Olympic qualifiers in equestrian...
