Easy to understand why people stop watching athletics before an event is over. This kind of reaction is the main reason they bring to explain the "reworking" of DL meets with 5000 disappearing from the start lists... Doesn't matter how it affects the sport in practice as long as the consumers doesn't get bored because they can't stand 5 minutes between two races The races are coming one after another in a rather dynamic way, I don't think there is a need to hurry and rush warm ups just to get the program going as fast as possible Edited May 11, 2019 by SalamAkhi

There's no field events or anything here to show something in those long times where nothing happens. When a heat is finished, the next one can start. When track events are the only thing, there's just no reason to have nothing for so long every single time. If so, they're disqualified from the entire discussion If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! If so, they're disqualified from the entire discussion No. The only difference between California high school meets and the IAAF is 1) Meets are not allowed to include Javelin for safety reasons 2) No Hammer is thrown 3) the mile, instead of the 1500m is run (a mile is 1600m) 4) we run the 300m Hurdles, instead of the 400m Hurdles. Most of that is because of USATF Youth Track regulations. Everything is run properly at the university level. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire.
