Yesterday I saw the replay of the Montpellier WC. It was my first time I see the bmx freestyle and meh, the Olympics could have done without it

I would have preferred mountain bike slopestyle or downhill myself.

I would preferred nothing of this :p This sport are more for the X Games actually.

So were  Snowboard Slopestyle, Ski Slopestyle, SkiCross, SnowboardCross, Ski Halfpipe, Snowboard Big Air; and they are some of the most popular events at the youth Olympics and more importantly Winter Olympics. I would love to see MTB Downhill make it into the Olympics some day because it really is an amazing, and technologically difficult event. I’m also amongst the camp ok with the addition of skateboarding. It was bound to happen one day. Same with a freestyle cycling event. And for the purpose of Olympic longevity it’s better sooner than later. I will also say that I don’t approve of the format of either events, though BMX freestyle has a lot more potential currently than skateboarding because UCI actually cares about it (even if they only gave it 18 quota places in Tokyo).

MTB downhill isn't. I agree about slopestyle though.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

naaa...the difference is clear to me...

sports where the results are determined only by personal judgment and by politicians = good for the X-Games

sports with men (and women) going against each other (but separately, not in mixed competitions :bones:) or against the clock (the only really fair judge...well, with a few notable exceptions, see Swimming, Phelps vs Cavic in the men's 100m fly in Beijing or Alpine Skiing in Crans Montana earlier this year...:hyper::rofl::facepalm:) = sports good for the real Olympic Games :p

Which is why I'd definitely be in favour of MTB downhill, that's pure racing.
