NearPup 2,095 Posted February 26, 2019 #72 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Kind of amazing to see the fall of the American women. Six years ago they where the dominant team in the world, now they are barely a footnote.
Monzanator 3,569 Posted February 27, 2019 #73 Share Posted February 27, 2019 They might have reached a new low in quals. Sankey & Lussi got beaten by a girl from Hungary. Geraghty-Moats DQ. It will be a huge success for either Rajda or Karpiel to make the 2nd round!
Monzanator 3,569 Posted February 27, 2019 #74 Share Posted February 27, 2019 97.5 for Karpiel which should be good enough for 2nd round! Rajda 91.0 meters.
dcro 10,172 Posted February 27, 2019 #75 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Interesting how women's team event was a much closer affair than the men's counterpart. And there were 12 teams! I'd much rather have that event at the Olympics instead of that mixed nonsense. NearPup 1 #banbestmen
Monzanator 3,569 Posted February 27, 2019 #76 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Lundby, Althaus & Seyfarth have some breathing space after 1st round. Karpiel 21st Rajda 34th.
hckošice 13,130 Posted February 27, 2019 #77 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Viktoria Šidlová rewrote history today becoming the first Slovak female ski jumper to compete at a senior major championship and the overall first Slovak ski jumper competing at a major event since Tomáš Zmoray failed to qualify from the qualification in Harachov during the Ski Flying World Cup season finals on 13th March 2014. Even if she finished dead last with 59.5m and 28.1 points it´s already something to be happy and proud of for us. well done Viki ahjfcshfghb
OlympicsFan 776 Posted February 27, 2019 #78 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Very sad day, Althaus was definitely the better athlete today, but the judges didn't want it to be. Lundby is bound to come down like Vogt did after a couple of years, hopefully that's when Althaus will be finally rewarded. Monzanator 3,569 Posted February 27, 2019 #79 Share Posted February 27, 2019 Lundby wins by 0,5 point! Wind compensation made the difference and Althaus landing on two feet in the first jump. Lundby utterly dominates the World Cup for the last two seasons so I doubt she's going anywhere given her age. She's like the Takanashi who actually wins the big events too! Althaus can't win anything since mid-December now Skijumpingmaster
EselTheDonkey 623 Posted February 27, 2019 #80 Share Posted February 27, 2019 (edited) I'm a bit angry. That's undeserved. I'm sorry, but it is. Lundby almost fell down in the first round and got way to high marks. Edited February 27, 2019 by EselTheDonkey
