Thanks to the alpine skiing commentator, I learned a new English word :d

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straddle_(skiing)

I had never in my life heard that be called any different than the German word "Einfädler" :p

You’ve never heard straddle :yikes:. You can’t watch Slalom in the US without hearing it, or Equestrian for that matter.

Because I usually have 0 reason to watch alpine skiing with English commentary and both German and Dutch commentators use 'Einfädler' :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

You’ve never heard it during Equestrian either? Or Gymnastics?

I mean... Even I never heard it used in equestrian. :p

When you get on a horse what do you do? You straddle it. You ride a horse by straddling it.

So both Spanish players (Pablo González and Eva Aizpuria) have won gold medals in ice hockey. I guess they have not been the most important players of their teams (even though Pablo scored a goal in the final), but it is fun to see some Spanish ahletes doing well in Winter sports.
