The Mixed Nordic Team Events was dropped, and replaced by team events in each discipline. I believe the Ski-Snowboard Cross Relay was dropped as well.

Curling Mixed Doubles didn’t not receive an increase in entries, but Curling received an increase in quotas. This was done to accommodate the presence of national teams in Mixed Doubles. It looks like we’ll have 16 NOCs in Mixed Team and 24 pairs in Mixed Doubles.

Maybe we can see an exotic country break through...

We saw a pretty good distribution of countries at Lausanne 2020, so there should be a good chance of that.

Cross Country Cross (M/W) was the only non-team event dropped.

Too bad it was replaced by yet another mixed team event, ugh.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

I noticed a team relay in long track. @heywoodu

I believe this was tested out somewhere last season, rather unspectacularly...the speed difference is just so big it really only depends on the women's strength.

Technically, the Mixed Team Event in Cross Country replaces the Mixed Nordic Team Event. I liked Cross Country Cross though, so I’m a little bummed to see it gone.

Sports/Event Program and quotas announced for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics.

Also, more athletes, and most importantly, no Mixed NOC events! :clap:

No Ski mountaineering :(

Just a small note, but I really like the new FISU pictograms: https://www.fisu.net/sports/all-sports

I think it’s part of the new branding they adopted last year, and I have to say, the logo/pictograms/etc. look modern, colorful, and professional.

Centro Caribe Sports to award 2022 Central American and Caribbean Games next month

Centro Caribe Sports is set to announce the replacement for Panama as the host of the 2022 Central American and Caribbean Games at the end of next month.

The organisation's President Luis Mejía Oviedo revealed the timeline following a two-day inspection by its Future Venues Commission of Mayagüez in Puerto Rico, one of the two candidates in the running to stage the Games.

El Salvador's capital San Salvador is also bidding to stage the 2022 Games after Panama withdrew as hosts last July due to the financial constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
