We don't even have threads for Tokyo 2020 though. :p

Yeah but who cares if someone opens something for later. "Fuck, there's no chronological order in the opening of threads, DELETE :hairpull:"

These things tell new users (if we have them) not to dare open a thread because it'll be moved anyway.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

I would prefer to talk about the 2025 EYOF in here for now though. After today that thread would most likely be empty for years,

Some interesting bidders seem to be arising for the 2027 Pan AMs: http://aroundtherings.com/site/A__78692/Title__Barranquilla-Aims-for-2027-Pan-Ams/292/Articles

Interesting

Really don’t understand why LA just doesn’t throw in a bid. If it were up to me, we host 2026 YOG, 2027 PanAm, 2028 Olympics/Paralympics.

Olympics is one thing that might work in LA. Other than that you're competing with Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, USC and maybe the Rams. It's a no-win contest for PanAm or Youth Games and other stuff. Nobody would give a damn about that.

True, but they’d serve as good test events, and were not really losing money to host them. Tickets would still sellout and people would still be interested. There’s 15 million within 3 hours of city, there is bound to be enough interest. The only thing to compete with in the summer is baseball. The Angles won’t be problem because they’ll be ass like every year (they’d probably already be like 30-60 by the time the games roll around), and Dodgers will throw it away in the playoffs anyways :p. So not much to compete with.

Does it really make sense to use the Memorial Coliseum for anything other than Summer Olympics? Probably not. What is your next best shot? Rose Bowl? Still too big for stuff like Youth Games. Obviously the Angels are only merely relevant these days because of Trout, nobody cares about what happens in Anaheim. Los Angeles is doing fine without the "test events" as you call them. And I bet you're confident enough to sell the SOG without these test events to begin with :p

We could use something like The Forum, Dolby Theatre, or any assortment of college stadiums. Anaheim is pippin’ right now by the way. That’s where the sports and arts scene is in LA right now. They been hosting more and more international sports. The convention center there is very nice. They also have a 10,000-15,000 seat indoor arena there too. We clearly do need the additional multi-sports games, but I want them :d.
