Clearly a move aimed for a predicted German gold medal. Like Irena Szewinska was always handing out medals in hammer or race walking back in the day

Summer Mcintosh at age 15 wins her first major world individual medal! Breaks 4 mins and the new NR! Not bad for a 15 year old!

 

(She did win the silver medal in the 400m at the short course worlds )
