Sanne Vermeer's Olympic hope (-63kg) is pretty much 100% over now at least for 2020. She was in a fight with Juul Franssen for the one spot, but got injured during the Europa League meet in Lisbon last week. Turns out she tore a hamstring and is out for 6-9 months :(

What a sad way to lose your Olympic dream considering this is a club competition with no pts allocation (Champions League I think).

Crazy transfer! Saeid Mollaei will fight for Mongolia

that's a shame! and a real mess! but I'm sure Iran will never allow him to start for another Country at the Olympics (and if there isn't the Iran's permission, he must wait 3 full years to be eligible for the Olympics under a new Flag)...

unless he's invited to the Olympics with the Refugees Team (who don't follow the normal rules about citizenship), he won't be able to start in Tokyo next year...at least not under a National Flag different from Iran's...

In some way or another, IJF's poster boy will be at the Olympics.

wow. for a moment I thought it's a kind of April Fools' Day but then I noticed we are nowhere near April

he is a real pro (and I don't mean professional). first he offered himself to Azerbaijan, then for some reasons it didn't work, next was Germany and he probably found out Germany is not a country you can obtain the citizenship overnight , so next option, Mongolia ! seriously who would expect that.

as @phelps said he can't legally participate in Tokyo but I agree with you, IJF will find a way for him. but then it's also an IOC matter.

IJF already created a new profile for him
