Dragon 1,699 Posted May 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2022 https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1123055/endorsements-iba-presidential-election The IOC will definitely be very angry at this.
heywoodu 13,545 Posted May 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2022 I am a little out of the loop here with all those terms being thrown around in the article, what exactly is the current situation now? If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

NearPup 2,156 Posted May 12, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2022 It should certainly be the end of the IBA.
dcro 10,179 Posted May 12, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2022 This is the same thing as Russia. Always blah blah, but the IOC will not have the spine to do anything. Boxing will survive (and under AIBA, one way or another). #banbestmen
Dragon 1,699 Posted May 15, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted May 15, 2022 No, the IBA have offended the IOC. If you do that the IOC will not forgive you
Mkbw50 381 Posted May 15, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2022 Just wait until the Dear Leader hears about this. He will "express grave concern" about the "gender diversity, youthfulness and urbanity" of the IBA and then appoint a 12-year-old refugee to be President intoronto, MHSN, dcro and 1 other 4 As now we come across the world To share these Games of old Let all the flags of every land In brotherhood unfold

JoshMartini007 2,209 Posted May 15, 2022 #9 Share Posted May 15, 2022 Boxing as a sport has too much support, it would be like trying to get rid of gymnastics, I just don't see it happening. At best the IOC would just recognize someone else as the true boxing federation.
Dragon 1,699 Posted January 4, 2023 Author #10 Share Posted January 4, 2023 This is a comment by one of the leading observers of the IOC. "All the indications point to boxing being excluded from Paris 2024; boxing has been a part of the Games continuously since 1920. There is a possibility of a challenger federation being organized, but at this point, the IOC seems ready to simply exclude the sport. If so, it’s unlikely that the IOC’s issues with the IBA would be settled by the fall and boxing would then be likely to be skipped in 2028 as well. Maybe that’s what Kremlev has in mind anyway, as he recently made an agreement with the World Boxing Association (WBA) to create a joint pathway to professional boxing. In that case, a new Olympic-focused boxing federation could emerge, despite Kremlev’s insistence that the IBA is the owner of worldwide amateur boxing."
