No that’s not who I was talking about. There was a different 18 year old who made the final (and actually didn’t look good after the first wall, I think she was too tired from yesterday’s efforts).

Well Climbing is much like Parkour/Freerunning. Think of Sport Climbing as Freerunning and of Natural Climbing as Parkour. Naturalists only use a gym every so often to get some strength training or form work in. A lot time they’ll have interviews there too, just because they can mess around during the interview. Sport Climbers are generally younger, and better at dynamic movement. A lot of them don’t try Natural Climbing until they’re a long way into their career. They tend to spend almost every day in the gym, and see Natural Climbing is a fun little challenge to try here and there. Now, there are expectations, Adam Ondra for instance. Adam excels at both to point where Reddit Climbing (probably the best online climbing community (that I know of)) is jealous of him. I’d say the majority of climbers (and mountaineers) stick to their own lane.

yeah, I saw that Camilla Moroni is the Italian girl competing in Doha...but frankly she's never got great results among the youth classes (yeah, some minor medals here and there, but she's never been considered an ace for the future of our Sport Climbing, like Laura Rogora, who won the Boulder Youth Worlds last year and made the Triple -Boulder, Lead and Combined- this year among the Juniors)...

p.s. Laura Rogora should really be considered one of those exceptions like Ondra, as she already achieved results in natual climbing that many athletes never get in their whole life (9a rock walls)...and she only turned 18 last April...

she definitely isn't only a sportswoman, she's a real climber at 360 degrees...

8b, 9a = foreign language to US climbers. I had to get a converter app, so I could what those are in the Yosemite scale :d

@TomJa if you like it so much, please have another one ;)

:POL at Tuesday:

- Kitefoil - We have a medal! Julia Damasiewicz was 2nd in women's final where she lost with :USA Moroz. Magdalena Wojciechowska was 2nd in her semifinal and didn't advance to the final. Also I'm apologize cause I wrote yesterday that men's final is today which is not true. It's tomorrow.

- Beach Volleyball 4x4 - Our team lost with :QAT 0:2 (22, 15). They will play for bronze against :INA

- Aquathlon - Alicja Ulatowska and Kamil Damentka took 7th place in relay. They lost to the winners :ESP 2:25 and 1:37 to medal. The best position of our team was at 1st leg after swim when Ulatowska was 3rd.

- Beach Handball - our girls won with :ESP after shootouts in very even match 2:1 (18:17, 14:15, 9:8). For 5th place they will play against :ARG

Tomorrow is last day of the games. The most important event is of course bronze medal match of our volleyball players. Except that there are semifinals of kitefoil with Maksymilian Zakowski but he probably won't advance and 5th place match of our handball girls.

Our only wrestler here won the gold medal quite easily :d I think he was our only gold medal chance. pity Iran didn't qualify more in beach wrestling. it could be easily more gold medals as I said beach wrestling is active in Iran, we have beach wrestling specialists unlike other countries. .

beach soccer team will play Italy for the bronze. so it will be 2 or 3 medals for Iran in general. not bad considering our small delegation.

I watched some events today, the women's beach tennis final was very controversial with lights went out exactly at Italy's match point when the Italian girl was ready to smash it for the win :yikes: Italy won the gold eventually though.

I’ve found the games to be highly entertaining. They’re not the biggest deal, but when I’ve been able to watch I’ve really enjoyed myself. I think the concept has a bright future. They proved they can attract high levels, and they got decent crowds in Qatar of all places. I’m really looking forward to the 2023 edition. Hopefully the scheduling is better and the event gets some more mainstream attention. Happy for Iran. I’m glad our Polish users finally got to celebrate some success today too.

It's always good feelings to get a medal. Here maybe it'll be our only one or one of two but we'll make this up at Military Games cause we send there... Well it looks like we send everybody :d

Now if only the live coverage will be as good...
