Monzanator 3,592 Posted March 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Russia & Belarus have been defaulted from BJK aka Fed Cup matches so Australia & Belgium qualify for the finals (the former replaces Russia which had a direct entry as defending champion). This also means the scheduled Australia vs Slovakia tie won't be played and Slovakia has qualified to the finals too @hckošice

Knowing our handball I can already picture how we will mess this up and manage to lose to Belgium for the first time in history to throw away this sudden huge opportunity from nowhere
Monzanator 3,592 Posted March 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2022 16 year old Petra Marcinko won the 25k in Antalya which extends her winning streak in single to 22 matches after she won Orange Bowl Junior Champs in 2021 and Australian Open Junior tournament in January. It's not strange to see a teenage talent win 20+ matches in a row but it's safe to say Marcinko might have a bright future in WTA really soon. Makedonas 1,571 Posted March 24, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2022 Obviously not anywhere near as impressive as some others but 17 year old Dimitra Pavlou (WTA 1278) beat Elena-Teodora Cadar (WTA 621, former 346) 7-5 1-6 6-2 in the first round of ITF Sharm El Sheikh. Cadar won the tournament there last week and this is the highest opponent Pavlou has ever beaten. Pavlou is Maria Sakkari's first cousin, so if she can rise up the rankings the next few years I think her cousin will "help" her with wildcards and playing doubles together etc. She already started sharing a fitness trainer with Maria, so it would be cool if she could keep improving over the next ~10 years just like her cousin did. Surprisingly people there seem to agree, that jail is too harsh for Becker. Should have just asked Djokovic for a favor.

Strange thing about Britain: if he does his time, keeps quiet & comes out he will be an absolute national hero for us. We love people who survive hardship with a smile.
