NMQ 222 Posted May 22, 2022 #86 Share Posted May 22, 2022 It was going to happen as she was very close and this was her best chance this year as in the CG she'll have a busy schedule. The question now is if she can pull off the 200 where she was close this week too. One of the few supersuit female records that still survives. Vic Liu 1,588 Posted June 6, 2022 #87 Share Posted June 6, 2022 On 5/5/2022 at 3:00 PM, Vic Liu said: Chinese trials for WCH and Asian Games were reportedly cancelled after an unspecified date suspension due to Shanghai Covid lockdown. What I currently learnt is that federation will directly select some swimmers who already met the FINA standards to form the national team. TBH I am not sure if China will send the team to WCH and the priority goes to Asian Games at home. China will send a full A team to WCH due to the postponement of Asian Games and Covid curbs in Shanghai lifted. The list includes all Tokyo Olympics medalists, some other Olympians and some young talents from National Games last year. dullard 418 Posted June 13, 2022 #89 Share Posted June 13, 2022 Anyone know which countries are actually going to Junior World Championships this year? With Russia banned and Australia, Canada, Japan and the US (maybe some others?) going to Junior Pan Pacs instead that leaves a very weakened event. Those countries made up 31 of 42 gold medals and 90 of 126 total medals at the 2019 edition. Makedonas
Grassmarket 2,749 Posted June 19, 2022 #90 Share Posted June 19, 2022 FINA is normally one of the world’s most hopeless governing bodies, but they’ve done the right thing here. Other sports should take note. Fina, swimming's world governing body, has voted to stop transgender athletes from competing in women's elite races if they have gone through any part of the process of male puberty. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/swimming/61853450 dullard, thepharoah, Makedonas and 2 others 4
