EupenM 149 Posted December 23, 2021 #21 Share Posted December 23, 2021 Great forecast by @Topicmaster1010!!! I'm very happy to see that France has a real chance to be in TOP 7!!!! Though the number of athletes is less than at 2018 Olympics, in 2022 has real chances in many events! p.s. I think that Perrine Laffont and Tess Ledeux deserve more than just silver medals Ted

So I had some free time so I figured I might as well try to make predictions for each event. These are mostly based on this years world cup results and last years world championships. Please keep in mind that my knowledge of alpine skiing and the nordic sports (besides biathlon) isn't the greatest so any advice would be appreciated. Most events were mostly straight forward to predict but a lot of the events (especially in biathlon, short track, and some freestyle skiing and snowboard events) have been very unpredictable this year so that made my job a lot harder. A lot of the events also don't have too much data so far this year so I'll update the predictions once more events are finished. Nitpicking, but I disagree about Canada's chances at curling. I know our rinks dropped the ball in 2018 and the rest of the world is catching up, but I don't see Jennifer Jones missing the podium. She is the only female skip to go undefeated at the Olympics (2014), and her third is the defending champ in the mixed event from 2018. They're both big game performers. Mixed doubles, who knows especially since Canada had to cancel their trials and the team will just be selected. Everything else looks good for Canada, although I might argue freestyle and snowboarding are underrepresented. But those sports can be unpredictable, especially this year. I'd be very happy with those speed skating results, both long and short track (though I hope Canada comes through in the new mixed relay). At the end of the day, the total medals are realistic, though I'd hope for more golds. Great job! Better than the official outlets. Ted

Overall the List isn‘t Too Bad in my opinion, although i would have picked different Athletes in Some disciplines, for Example Stolz/Wiklund in Speed Skating or Vinatzer in men‘s alpine Skiing. Now it is reaching really to the sci-fi spheres they for the first time in their predictions predict also a gold for Slovakia. 1-1-1, All 3 medals are apparently predicted to be won by Vlhová (the silver and bronze not being specified in which events, gold in Slalom), ehm.... Well, maybe better to take a big breath and caaaaaalmly return a bit on earth haha, any medal for us would be something huge and so unusual, Remember at the last 2 WOG Slovakia won in total 4 medals and ALL OF THEM were won only by Nastya Kuzmina. Slovakia since the independence won only 8 WOG medals (6 by Kuzmina) and only 1 of them was not from biathlon, the legendary Bradburyesque Torino 2006 Rado Židek silver So just let the thing doing naturally its way. Making enormous pressures etc never helped to anyone. Petra herself know what she want, all her season (maybe carrers) goals aimed for this February. As she keep repeating to the medias again and again all the team worked so extremely hard and now they have just to hope and pray to avoid Covid and injuries, she has just to stay calm, focused on her work and skiing and that dreamed medal for Slovakia can become a reality if she manages to do it, then I am convinced that one day she will be elected the president of the country lol Topicmaster1010, Gianlu33 and Ted

Come on, try to be a bit less cautious and more optimistic, please.
