This sounds interesting but 3.8km isn't something wow. Put them in a labyrinth/city to cross 10km instead :d

What about running 10 km in a dense forest and cross swampy areas while climbing 500 meter?

That would be a horror movie perhaps

That's what the women are running. For the men it is 16 km through the same, but they are climbing about 700 meters and the winning time is about 95-100 minutes. Doesn't it sound lovely? :p

This is what I think of when hearing orienteering: having to find your way in huge, unmapped (for the athletes) terrain :d Not mostly in or around some city :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

I agree. But on the other hand, my country's biggest chance of winning medals is on the sprint distances. :pThat's what happens when your country is one of the most farmed in the world. Forests are overrated anyway. :p

no, I think they're not...

the race through the forest is so spectacular...

however I don't understand why this sport is not at the Olympics yet...they already have in their program that so beloved by the IOC mixed relay that should turn Bach and his friends on more than a full store of viagra pills...:yikes::rofl::whistle::facepalm:
