Two Polish architects, Przemylslaw Gawęda and Marcin Sajdak, have launched a drawing of a new type of in-run for the ski jumpng hill in Zakopane. They have sent it to FIS.

Poish Fed says the cost of this tunnel equals 100 years of salary for the snow blowers and of course it's dangerous with the side wind hitting the jumpers on take-off. The wind factor is assessed during the in-run and this tunnel would prevent that. All in all, a very dangerous idea according to several Polish experts. It would make more sense to have ski jumping indoors which is an idea floating around for years (and probably only the Germans have enough funds to build such an indoor hill tbh).

The jump phase should be like this if anything, not the inrun :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Anders Jacobsen who was commenting ski flying on norwegian tv this weekend said that if Sclierenzauer isn't part of the austrian squad in Seefeld then he might consider end his career.

He should end it anyway. This season is total failure, actually he is absent from Austrian team few weeks already,so its logical not to have him in the team anymore.

His prime was almost decade ago,he never regained his shape. Its better not to ruin great image he has.

I like to see those veterans (i was so sad when Malysz finished career) but sometimes its inevitable.

A legend has passed away. :(

Four-time Olympic champion and five-time World champion, Matti Nykänen, has passed away at the age of 55.

Nykänen won 46 WC victories throughout his career, second most by any ski jumper in the World Cup. He holds the record for most Overall WC titles with 4 (together with Adam Malysz).

Plus still the only ski jumper in history to win all five major titles.
