Gianlu33 3,572 Posted August 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2018 The Austrian pairing of Peter Penz and Georg Fischler, silver medallists in the doubles at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang (KOR) in 2018, have decided to call time on their career. The 2012 European Champions, who also clinched bronze in the team relay in PyeongChang, will remain involved with luge, according to a press release issued by the Austrian Luge Association (ÖRV). Peter Penz is set to become a coach for the association, while Georg Fischler will help the ÖRV with its preparations for the forthcoming season. He also hopes to start training as a police officer by the end of the year. heywoodu

dcro 10,179 Posted October 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2018 Apparently our luger Daria Obratov will switch allegiance to the Netherlands after some fight with people from federation. Not sure what happened, but apparently something petty because it's not about the money. Anyway, good luck with meeting the Dutch selection standards. heywoodu 1 #banbestmen

That is both awesome (we have a luger ) and sad for her in terms of her Olympic chances Any idea on why she has chosen the Netherlands? No idea. Apparently she got mad because the federation "doesn't believe in her". Which is not coming out of nowhere in all honesty, because she wasn't nearly on the same level as, well, everyone else at the Olympics. Such irony to choose a team that wouldn't believe lugers who are much better than her. #banbestmen
