[PREDICTION CONTESTS] Discussion Thread

For Tour contest 2017 the deadline was  - July 3rd, h. 12:25 (GMT +2)

Is obvious, if you enter after that deadline, or re- post your prediction (for stages) you lost points for part 1 (General Classification) and part 2 (jersey/ medal winner), according with the rule:

Quote

Contestant will earn 0 points for finished events and the events that have started (heats included). Moment at the latest editing will be considered as the entry moment, in other words.

It is allowed, the deadline for the stages is the start of the stage. Which makes sense, because it would be seriously weird to have a prediction contest for a 3 week competition and then having to predict all stages even before the start :p

:mumble: Sorry, where you had read this rule?

In the laws of logic, and I believe there was talk about it earlier in this thread and/or the Tour de France thread. It's been working like this for a long time, including in other Tour de France predictions (not sure if there was one last year, otherwise it was the year before) and with other events like biathlon world championships, where of course you're not required to predict every event before the start of the championships.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Ok, maybe there is a misunderstood for me, when was allowed (previous contests) in the rules was wrote  "DAY-BY-DAY ALLOWED"

I ask a clarify at the jury commissioner @tuniscof : Is allowed or not the day-by-day, for every stages?

(Next : Stage 12, July 13th, 2017)

PS: Tour prediction was 2015 but don't remember if was day-by-day :p:old:

I remember it was day-by-day, because I remember setting my alarm every day to enter my predictions :p

I was convinced it was allowed, because of pure logic and because of previous contests, but alright. It'd suck monkeyballs if suddenly it's not allowed this time, there goes my main chance for a gold medal

Spoiler

it's a conspiracy with a UFO against Sagan, cheater referees :redcard:

The answer is NO? Otherwise It would have been written something like " Day-by-day predictions are allowed" but since nothing was written it is NOT ALLOWED

and people why don't you ASK ME for any question OR doubt about the contest ?? and Read the rules please !

There was a Tour de FRANCE 2015 but since we lost the data of the old forum, I don't remember if it was Day-by-day prediction or not, but in the present one it's not allowed so that everyone has to put his predictions from the beginning once and for all not so there is no possible editing after the beginning of Stage 3 (the new deadline for the contest on July 3rd at 12:25).

@heywoodu you could have asked me !!!  and my answer would have been the same it's a NO ! Day-by-day prediction are NOT ALLOWED !

you have to forget the prediction of the tour de france , you didn't approval the 1rst stage , everybody saw the level of each cyclist during this time trial which is CHEATING , and Sagan/ Valverde /cavendich....... are out

so this prediction has nonsens, totally garbage

Garbage,?? what are you talking about?? :mumble: I thought I'd give EQUAL chances to everyone to enter the prediction at the same level since no more than two 4 players could enter their prediction in time (of course i've posted the prediction design late but it's the best i could do...)  other wise those 4 or 5 players would be  advantaged and it wouldn't be fair !

And yes if everybody saw the level of each cyclist so everybody has the SAME CHANCE before posting their prediction (they could have edit it until Stage 3 if they wanted)

I dunno how you call it CHEATING ???  there is absolutely no cheating here. You have to choose better words. Honestly I couldn't understand your attitude

And is it my fault that Sagan / Valerde and Cavendish and others soon are or will be out?? :mumble:
