Luge is different, countries with a track cannot be beaten.  Luge is the default sliding sport, everyone starts as children so we can never beat that.   With skeleton, everyone, even Latvians, starts much later so there’s more chance for the non-track nations.

Yeah, former ski jumpers finished 1-2 in WOG. Skeleton is really a low-hanging fruit compared to some of the other winter sports.
