avlar 108 Posted February 26 #634 Share Posted February 26 And show must go on. russians filed 3(!) appeals to CAS (from ROC, national skating federation and all the team mebers including Valieva). Their demand: ROC team must be awarded with gold medals... including Kamila Valieva. NearPup, intoronto and Josh

Okay, but there'd still be a glaring issue if they win that appeal. ROC still technically fielded then an "ineligible" athlete, as Valieva's doping infringement is backdated to December 25, 2021. To quote the statement released by CAS after the ruling: Quote All competitive results of Ms Valieva from 25 December 2021 are disqualified, with all the resulting consequences (including forfeiture of any titles, awards, medals, profits, prizes, and appearance money). intoronto 1 “Sport has the power to change the world.
