1. Team dressage, inspite of the fact, that there's a certain risk, now that only three athletes can compete

2. Canoe sprint, men's K4

3. Johannes Vetter, javelin throw

I don't any medal is safe. But no medal in each of these three events would be a big disappointment.

Well I would be very disappointed if Mondo and Ståhl don’t win medals in athletics.  But are they safe? Everything can happen.

I hope there will be medal in men’s handball, women’s football and maybe for Sjöström in swimming. I think they aren’t safe though.

Don't know if I dare. At the last two games my safest medal ended up as busts!

Post the Danish biggest rivals as safe medals

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Italy don't have any safe medal, despite having many events where not coming home with a medal would be extremely disappointing...

if he wasn't stopped by mononucleosis, I'd have said that all 3 Paltrinieri's races in swimming would have been safe medals, but now...it's not the case anymore...

in fencing and shotgun shooting, we should medal in most of the events, but it's all but a lock...

however, I'm quite optimist...we're gonna hit the target as said by our NOC's president for sure...:fingers:

I'd say :NED has a few safe gold medal picks:

  • Track cycling, men's team and individual sprint (Harry Lavreysen)
  • Field hockey, women's team
  • Sailing, RS:X men (Kiran Badloe)

Track cycling is a little hard to say because there has been so little competition, but they were far enough ahead of the rest that I'm still confident. And Lavreysen is still young.

Some options that I consider 'safe medals', but not necessarily safe gold medal picks:

  • Road cycling (women's road race and time trial)
  • Mountainbiking (Mathieu van der Poel)
  • Rowing (LW2x and M4x)

I think it's a little tricky to consider a medal as a safe one, especially a gold medal in sailing. It's just how the wind blows :p. For me the only safe gold medal is the women's hockey team. Like @heywoodusaid: we have to wait and see which superbikes the British will show up with, so not very sure of the gold medals for the men's team and Harry Lavreysen, but a medal should definitely work.

Another more or less safe medal for Laura Smulders (BMX) and the W4- rowingteam (although I fear that Ireland will win the gold).

I think for our Belgian neighbours and friends there are a lot more 'safe' gold medal picks: Evenpoel and Van Aert in the men's road race and time trial, Thiam in the heptathlon (athletics), Derwael at uneven bars (gymnastics) and the men's hockeyteam.
