Well yeah I assumed her father and grandfather were Slovak so obviously they were ice hockey players :p Really, you'd be a lot quicker off if you just make a list of Slovaks who were not ice hockey players :p

yep, well, you´ll certainly find more ice hockey players than adherents of Korfball in Slovakia

  2. :SVK Team Slovakia :SVK

    Men´s

    Marcel Lomnický  (Hammer Throw)

    Matej Tóth  (50km Race Walk)

    Women´s

    Gabriela Gajanová  (800m)

    Martina Hrašnová   (Hammer Throw)

Mária Katerinka Czaková  (50km Race Walk)

so SVK will send only 5 athletes. 6 made the standards but the Marathon Runner Tibor Sahajda decided to instead compete at the Košice peace marathon in 2 weeks (the SVK national championship in marathon) in order to win valuable points for the Olympic ranking.

2 Other athletes missed the WCH by really few...especially the 100m Hurdles athlete Stanislava Lajčáková will miss the world championshps for 0.01s :( and Triple Jumper Tomáš Veszelka for 4cm :(

and ofc Slovan Bratislava will have closed stadium and quite expensive fine...maybe even kicked out from the cups because, wow, surprise, nobody was seeing this coming :coffee:

So after this "intremezzo" during the match against the Kosovo champion, UEFA punished Slovan quite surprisingly only by closing the stadium for 1 match, the first Group game against Besiktas. Slovan immediately responded by offering free tickets for U14 kids from Bratislava schools and young players from the clubs of the area

I learned like last week or something both Bencic and Hingis have significant Slovak heritage :yikes:

I had no clue, especially about Hingis.

and Roger Federer is married to Mirka from Slovakia. I don´t know what´s wrong with the Swiss Tennis players :d

Martina Hingis is more of Czech decency. however her birth place is one very nice place in the east of Slovakia named Košice :p

In other side Belinda Bencic or if you want in slovakian Belinda Benčičová is more slovak than anything else, speaking perfect middle-slovakian dialect, living the bigger part of her non tennis year in Slovakia and one of the biggest fans and presenters of Slovak culture.

especially her slovakian is really great, she is often host in our shows also radio shows.

btw her grandfather was a Slovan Bratislava ice hockey player, never made it to the National Team but was one of the biggest our ice hockey player of the 60´s. also her father was a Ice Hockey player that turned to be her tennis coach and the one aho know how piss her off as heck

  5. The current best Slovak athlete not competing for Slovakia :p Belinda Bencic has announced her engagement. :) now let´s hope her future husband will somehow find a way to convince her to represent the right country. Kidding ofc, even under :SUI flag she is still considered here as ours :p:whistle:

Ah, right. That sounds like a bigger problem for some young people.

you understand, young boys all over the world follow their idols Messi, CR7, Mbappe, Neymar etc... wear their jerseys, wants one day to be like them, follow all their matches, that´s normal, I was young too and had my idols as well (one of them was Van Basten for your info), here young boys follow hockey stars, now the idiotic leaders of the league denied to those kids the chance to watch their favorite players of their club playing a match away.

I mean such things should remain for the National TV and their website (even paying something "normal" per month) The betting companies shouldn´t be even allowed to fight for the Streaming rights of any sport

  7. A really very sad day in our forum.

The whole day at work I was thinking about Rodrigo, I remember some of our dicussions, he was really kind and humble person. Sometimes the life is so cruel and not fair.

Damn at 25. He was so young, it´s not fair to leave so young...

all my thoughts are with his family, relatives and friends, who must now feel unimaginable pain and insurmountable sadness.

    you´ll be very missed Hukbrazil

Betting at least €1,20 per month...so assuming you're just gambling on 50/50 bets, that's like paying 20 cents a month. Surely that's not such a huge problem? :p

    THE PROBLEM

is if you are still not adult, you´ll not be allowed to gamble, because according to our new strict anti-Gambling laws, you have to create an account (and here come the real problem, you have for that to send a copy of your ID Card, so  People under 18 don´t have any chance to outwit the system. If they want to watch the matches of their favorite teams, they will be left to the help of their elder relatives.

p.s. I gave a look to the huste.sk website...it looks that they're not going to stream the Extraliga anymore...

other than the STV matches, do you know if (and in case where) the other games are going to be available (for free, with or without VPN it doesn't matter)?

One good news for you, since tomorrow Sport 1, Sport 2 will also cover our Extraliga, with 1 match per round (Tuesday, Friday ad Sunday), so 3 games per week. they starts tomorrow by the game Slovan - Nové Zámky and Friday the big game Košice - Banská Bystrica. https://sport.aktuality.sk/c/412738/slovenska-tipsport-liga-mieri-na-televizne-stanice-sport1-a-sport2/

RTVS will still be the favored one and will have the first choice to select whch match they want broadcast on Sunday. They announced it today,

Sport 1 and Sport 2 will cover the whole season of the Extraliga, meaning also every day of the Play-Offs + you can follow there the whole season of SHL, CHL, and as usual KHL

In other hand you were right, Huste.sk sadly lost the internet rights for the Ligue, they are now in the Czech betting company Tipsport.cz/sk, all matches are streamed there but it´not for free anymore, you have to bet at least 1.20 EUR per month to be eligible to watch the streams  (the first 7 days after registration and creating your new account are however for free).

This btw started an unbelievable reactions among the public and the discussions forums are going all mad and asking for Lintner head, after he sold the rights to them, because according to our laws you are forbidden to bet (or playing any hasard game) until you are 18, so basically the u18 population here can not watch our extraliga on web, because they are not allowed to create an account in this betting company and play :lol:https://sport.aktuality.sk/c/412095/tipsport-liga-na-internete-ak-mate-menej-ako-18-nepozriete-si-ju-a-nebude-zadarmo/
