  1. yes ofc thats the only possible explanation. but however it was a goal, even if such things just can not happen and not at such level at all, big mistakes of the referees
  2. I just found why Otčenáš and Faur had blue times. They had both 12 seconds deducted from their times, because there was apparently a huge crush of athletes arriving at same time during the first prone shooting so both Otčenáš and Faur just somehow haven´t any place nowhere where to lie and shoot
  3. yes I saw it yesterday a divided puck, thats definitely something absolutely new
  4. btw USA once again showed their undiscuttable knowledge about the Universe behinde their boarders playing the ancient Germany anthem during their match this remind me the match we played there under Slovenian flag
  5. I don´t know if we deserved it, didn´t watched the matches at all, but I´m really shocked by the result, I would have never imagined that with a team of Šramková and Hantuchová it will not end by a 5-0 for Italy. wow, this is really what I call a upset
  6. Sure. Remember the winner will qualify for the Olympics. http://w-groupc.pyeongchang2018.iihf.hockey/en/live!/
  7. FIS ALPINE SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women's Downhill Final Results STUHEC Ilka 1:32.85 VENIER Stephanie 1:33.25 VONN Lindsey 1:33.30 Stuhec golden in St. Moritz downhill The weather Gods cooperated and the ladies’ were able to crown their downhill World Champion as Slovenia’s Ilka Stuhec lived up to all expectations and claimed the gold medal in St. Moritz. Stuhec, who topped both downhill training runs, finished 0.40 seconds ahead of Austrian Stephanie Venier and 0.45 seconds ahead of American Lindsey Vonn. It was Stuhec’s first career World Championship medal as she continues to have an incredible season. Despite being on the World Cup circuit since 2007 it took until this season for Stuhec to earn her first World Cup podium, which came in Lake Louise. Since then, she has earned five victories and six total podiums. Now she can also add World Champion to her CV. “I’m amazed,” an emotional Stuhec said after her victory. “I knew it was possible, but still to stand as the World Champion here is unreal to me. Words can’t express what this means. I think the reality will sink in a little later.” It was also the first medal for Venier, who took home the silver. She was an outside chance to make the podium as she has only one career World Cup podium, which came a few weeks ago in Garmisch Partenkirchen in the super-G. On the other end of the spectrum, is Vonn, who is one of the most decorated female Alpine racers ever. Today’s bronze was Vonn’s seventh total World Championship medal. "I'm very happy with today," said Vonn after the race. "I heard that I'm now the oldest female World Championship medal winners and after my injuries the last year, I couldn't ask for more." After a rare fog bank over the middle of the course forced the cancellation of yesterday’s men’s downhill, tensions were high in the lead-up to today’s ladies’ downhill as the same weather pattern looked likely. But the ladies’ raced in a perfect window under blue skies and in front of a crowd of more than 50,000. After the completion of the ladies’ race, it was still planned to stage the men’s race at 13:30. Full Results Here Ilka Stuhec Downhill World Champion 2017 Race Replay
  8. lol this moment when you play in Italy without Cibulková and only with a debuting young girl Šramková somewhere around millionth place WTA and Hantuchová which didn´t won a single match last 2 years ! but suddenly you won the sport has no logic
  9. obviously but why it´s not in red ? blue is a fine colour, no ? I mean something like he did a loop more than he had or something because it´s always very weird to see a athlete penalised by missing a loop, for example I actually suppose that Otčenáš know at least the basic rules of his sport
  10. Bailey, you´ll hardly find unluckiest guy
  11. Erik Guay this guy definitely know how to prepare for a major event
  12. FINAL QUALIFICATION ROUND Tournament 2 Tomakomai (JPN) - 09.02.2017 - 12.02.2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Japan - Germany 3-1 Smile Japan! Japan beats Germany, qualifies for Olympic Games Veteran Hanae Kubo came through when it mattered most on Sunday as Japan beat Germany 3-1 to secure a place in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. With Japan holding a slim 2-1 lead, Kubo's blast from the top of the faceoff circle with 5:17 left in the third period gave the hosts a two-goal cushion and sent them to their third Olympics following Sochi and Nagano. It was Kubo's tournament-leading fifth goal of the tournament. The 34-year-old forward scored a hat trick in the 6-1 win over Austria on Thursday and added another goal in the 4-1 win over France on Saturday. “Kubo came through like she has all tournament,” said Japan coach Takeshi Yamanaka. “She just knows how to score in important situations and played a huge role for us.” Germany pulled their goaltender with two minutes remaining and desperately tried to get back in it but Japan’s defence stood tall. “I put the players out I knew I could count on and they did a great job,” Yamanaka said of the final two minutes. As impressive as Japan was on offense, they gave up only three goals all tournament and finished with the maximum nine points. Japan got on the scoreboard first when Moeko Fujimoto stuffed a backhand from close range past German goaltender Jennifer Harss at 12:16 of the second period. Just over two minutes later the hosts doubled the lead on the power play. With Tanja Eisenschmid serving a two-minute penalty for hooking, Shoko Ono tapped in a rebound from the side of the net. Germany responded with a power play goal of its own late in the second to cut the lead to 2-1. Eisenschmid took a pass in the high slot and sent a wrister to the top corner with 3:30 remaining. The first period was high-paced with few whistles. Japan came close eight minutes in on a 2-on-1 break but Kubo was denied by Harss. Akane Hosoyamada rang a slap shot off the crossbar with seven seconds left in the first. Japan took two penalties late in the first period but Germany was unable to take advantage. “To beat Japan you have to take advantage of your chances,” said German coach Benjamin Hinterstocker. “We tried everything to beat them. Both teams had chances, it was a high-tempo game and both teams had a chance to win.” Eight teams will play in the women's tournament in Pyeongchang. The United States, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland had already qualified along with South Korea which earns a spot as the host nation.Joining them now will be "Smile Japan".
  13. FINAL QUALIFICATION ROUND Tournament 2 Tomakomai (JPN) - 09.02.2017 - 12.02.2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- France - Austria 3-1 France finishes third Defeat Austria 3-1 in final game Gwendoline Gendarme scored a power play goal late in the third period as France beat Austria 3-1 to finish third in Olympic Qualification Group D. Austria was guilty of taking too many penalties throughout the game and it took its toll in the third when Charlotte Wittich was sent off for an illegal hit with 9:10 left in regulation. Gendarme then scored on a wrister from just inside the blue line to give France a 2-1 lead. Estelle Duvin added an empty netter in the final seconds to complete the scoring. "We had a lot of power play opportunities during the game," France captain Marion Allemoz said. "We couldn't cash in but finally we did from one of our younger players and that gave us a huge boost." France finished Group D with four points while Austria had none. France got the scoresheet first when Allemoz scored with 3:33 left in the second on a rebound off a shot from Lea Parment. But the lead didn't last long. Eva Maria Beiter Schwarzler scored a power play goal from a tight angle with just 15 seconds left in the second period. "It was important for us to finish with a win," said France coach Gregory Tarle. "It will make the trip home a lot easier. We had two tough games against Japan and Germany and I feel we are getting closer to the elite level." Austria had seven penalites in the match compared to three for France. France had a 5-on-3 advantage late in the first period but couldn't capitalize. Eight teams will play in the women's tournament in Pyeongchang. The United States, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland have already qualified along with South Korea which earns a spot as the host nation. Japan plays Germany in the second game with the winner qualifying for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

  17. Zavarzina and Prommegger victorious in Olympic PGS test event Alena Zavarzina (RUS) and Andreas Prommegger (AUT) have claimed victory in the official parallel giant slalom test event for the upcoming 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea which was staged in the re-run format today. With perfect conditions on the 560 metres long course given, a course which had all the ingredients for a superb show, with steep parts, natural rollers as well as flat sections and a total of 26 parallel flagged gates, everything was set for the raceboarder's first taste of what to expect next February. In the women's competition, Zavarzina kept hold to her win from Bulgaria last weekend coming out successful of the Bansko women's final remake against 2014 Olympic champion Patrizia Kummer (SUI). “I'm feeling great. It was a great experience to race here on the official Olympic slope. Organisers did a great job. I'm really excited to come back next year,” Zavarzina stated. Her rival from Switzerland was also in a good mood and full of praise for the venue and organisation at site: “I'm very happy, another podium in the World Cup at a special place. It's been a good course, a great slope. I'm stoked.” Due to her season's second and career's fourth win, Zavarzina, the 2014 Olympic bronze medallist not only extended her lead in the pgs World Cup standings but also took over the lead in the alpine snowboard overall World Cup ranking from Ester Ledecka. The Czech top gun missed the race in Korea due to her participation in the FIS Ski World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Julie Zogg (SUI) rounded out the podium as third winning the small final against Germany's Ramona Hofmeister. Prommegger from 16 to first Over in the men's event, Andreas Prommegger held the upper hand over his teammate Sebastian Kislinger in an all-Austrian final bringing home his season's first World Cup win while his fellow countryman celebrated his career's first podium in his 40th start. However, at first, it didn't really look like his career's 14th as the father of one just sneaked through to the finals as 16th best qualifier facing this seasons dominant rider and best qualifier Radoslav Yankov in his eighth final round. But Prommegger knocked out Yankov catching up a deficit of 0.19 seconds to tie the time and proceed to the next round where he kept the momentum in the following duels versus Sarsembaev (RUS) and Caviezel (SUI). “I didn't know what was going on in the qualifiers. I had two good runs but wasn't fast. So, I changed the equipment and it worked out perfectly. I'm feeling great,” Prommegger explained the move which made the difference for him in the end. Yankov, beaten by literally nothing, finished in ninth position and defended his lead in both, the pgs and alpine snowboard overall World Cup rankings. Aaron March (ITA) finished in third position with Dario Caviezel (SUI) forced to settle for fourth. The alpine snowboard World Cup tour continues in two weeks with a parallel slalom staged in Shukolovo (RUS) on February 25, 2017. Full Results Men and Women
