  1. and this is how it looked after yesterdays match Slovan - Zagreb, last KHL game this season for both teams, ufortunately Slovan missed the play-offs very nearly but their fans showed once again that in this country we just LOVE hockey and even the team didn´t succeed and didn´t qualify for the play-offs they received an incredible farewell party from their fans and the full arena
  2. and we lost, as expected, but very nice heroic performance of our kids, to lost only 2-4 to Russia in the semifinal, it was really close, but unfortunately 2 goals during 1 minute in the second period after 2 huge mistakes in our defensive zone cost us a possible huge upset..... now we´ll have to try our best and move our asses to beat tomorrow France in this bronze medal match, if we want to medal in this EYOF..Gonna be a hard task though, The youngs french looks really well prepared and disxiplned, they lost to Belarus only 1-2 in todays semifinal. btw the matches of the tournament are played with pucks from
  3. They have just not so good season this year, but Sweden is still strong in technical disciplines, Frida is among the biggest favorites in the womens slalom, Maria Pietilae-Holmner is also still in better and better form after her return from injury, the same among mens Myhrer and Hargin still have abilities to fight for medals. Don´t forget already won bronze in the team event thanks them ofc it´s not like the harvest during the Anja Persson era, but Sweden is still relatively very strong and is well doing
  4. Again only 1 of our 4 competing athletes finished on points, surprisingly it was Kazár who had one of his best careers shooting performances today 1+0+0+0 he even missed only the very first target ! Incredible but I´m true, yes we are speaking about Kazár ! He hit all next 19 ! how ? I don´t know, but still he was low today in skiing and even this huge shooting miracle helped him only for 29th place (his best this season result !) Other 3 guys ended far behind points...especially because miserable skiing, don´t know why but today we had overall one of the worst skiing times of all teams. Martin Otčenáš with the 60th skiing time was our fastest today In the Nations Cup our mens team is still 16th only 15 points behind Kazakhstan, hopefully we will beat them in the relay saturday. In the fight for the 4 entries next world cup season we are 507 points ahead of 18th Romania, and for the olympics we are 764 points in front of 21st Lithuania. Tomorrow is the womens relay day. Our team will compete also with Anastasiya Kuzmina, Despite her not optimal health condition she decided to try to help our relay she will compete in the 2nd leg. the different legs Paulína Fialková Anastasiya Kuzmina Ivona Fialková Jana Gereková The Complete start list for tomorrows womens Relay Here
  5. FIS ALPINE SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women's Giant Slalom Final Results WORLEY Tessa 2:05.551:02.01+1:03.54 SHIFFRIN Mikaela 2:05.891:02.73+1:03.16 GOGGIA Sofia 2:06.291:02.49+1:03.80 Worley gold medal worthy in St. Moritz GS Under sunny skies in St. Moritz at the 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, France’s Tessa Worley claimed her second gold medal at these championships when she won today’s giant slalom. Worley won a clear 0.34 seconds ahead of American Mikaela Shiffrin, who took silver, and Italy’s Sofia Goggia, who claimed bronze 0.74 seconds behind the winning time. It was smiles all around for the top three as Worley earned her third individual career World Championship medal, adding to her collection of a previous gold and bronze. Worley was also on the French Team that took gold at the nations team event on Tuesday, bringing her total medal count to four. “Incredible,” said Worley after her victory. “I worked hard all year and had to stay patient. But I knew today could be my day if I gave my best and I was focused completely on winning the gold.” With the silver, Shiffrin also earned her third individual World Championship medal adding to her two gold medals from the slalom in Beaver Creek in 2015 and Schladming in 2013. “Tessa deserves winning this, she’s done so well all season,” said Shiffrin. “She had such a big lead after the first run that I knew it would be tough to top. For a bit I thought I had done enough, but it was clear that she was the best today and deserves the gold medal.” Perhaps none of the three was happier than Sofia Goggia, who not only earned her first career World Championship medal but also Italy’s first medal of these World Championships. It was also atonement for Goggia, who finished in fourth place twice in her career at World Championships, including this year’s downhill. As she celebrated in the finish area she simply said, "Finally!” "It's a great way to end my World Championships," said Goggia. "The speed events were really disappointing for me and I knew today was my last chance to come home with a medal." The Italians broke their World Championship silence convincingly today, placing three racers inside the top six. Big margins separated the athletes after the first run. Tessa Worley (FRA) held a 0.48 advantage over Goggia (ITA) and Shiffrin (USA) was 0.72 seconds off the pace. The rest of the field trailed the top time by more than one second. The top three times endured through the second run with only Shiffrin and Goggia changing places. A massive field started today’s race with 98 athletes at the start. It was also a record for a ladies’ giant slalom with 56 different nations participating, putting the word ‘world’ into the World Championships. Tomorrow, the men are in action with their chance at the giant slalom. The first run is scheduled for 9:45 CET and the second run at 13:00. 6. Maciej Kot takes his second win Poland's Maciej Kot took his second win in the World Cup within only a week. After his first victory last Saturday in Sapporo (JPN), Kot stood on top of the podium for the second time during this Asia-Tour in PyeongChang (KOR). Stefan Kraft of Austria and Germany's Andreas Wellinger came in second and third. Due to the strong wind, the competition was moved from the large hill (HS 140) to the normal hill (HS 109) in the Alpensia Jumping Park in PyeongChang. In the inrun area there were wind gusts of up to 20 m/s on Thursday, but the effecitve wind nets at the hills in PyeongChang made it possible to carry out a competition. "Of course it was difficult today and you needed a bit of luck to finish among the best, but that's part of the game. I had this luck especially in the final round", said Maciej Kot. He added: "I'm in a really good shape at the moment, both jumps were good. In Sapporo I said that I hope it's not my last win and today I won again, this is amazing." Kot moved up to first from fifth after the first round. Andreas Wellinger also came from behind in today's final. He was only 16th after the first round and with the longest jump of the day of 112 m in the final he could move up to third overall. "I was definitely frustrated after the first round. The jump was not that good, but extremely aggressive at the take-off. It would have worked better on large or ski flying hill. The wind conditions were also not good. I focused on the second round and I had a bit more luck then. I didn't expect that I could move up all the way to the third place. I'm in a very good shape and when all the details work out in a jump then it goes really far. When I do a good jump at the World Championships, then a lot is possible there for me. There are many jumpers, who can be on the podium and those who will have their best jumps will come out on top," Wellinger said after the competition. Austria's Stefan Kraft remains the top favorite for the World Championships in Lahti (FIN) starting next week. After his win yesterday, Kraft showed another convincing performance today and finished second. "It was not that difficult to adjust to the normal hill. My first jump in the qualification was very good, it worked well right from the start. In the first round it wasn't easy because of the gate change and the delays, but my jump was very good. My second jump was not that perfect but being on the podium again is amazing. I'd rather be considered a top favorite for the World Championships than going there in a bad shape. I'm looking forward to in, but many others are strong as well. It will be very interesting, 10 to 15 athletes will be fighting for the medals", said Kraft, who was on the podium for the seventh time in a row. Slovenia's Peter Prevc and Daniel Andre Tande of Norway weren't that lucky in the final. Prevc was in the lead after the first round and came in fourth, Tande was second with a very good first jump and finished fifth overall, but still both can be satisfied with their results. World Cup leader Kamil Stoch was sixth, ahead of Russia's Evgeniy Klimov, who is consistently jumping on a high level this winter. Dawid Kubacki was eighth and completed the next very good team result for Poland. Piotr Zyla was the fourth-best of the Polish team in 18th. Andreas Wank benefited from the change to the normal hill and seized the opportunity with a ninth place, that could be valuable for him when it comes to the nomination for the German team for the WSC in Lahti. Robert Johansson moved up from 20th to tenth in the second round. Anze Lanisek of Slovenia, who equalled his career-best result with a fourth place on Wednesday, was among the best in the first round today in fifth, but in the final he had bad luck with the conditions and finished only 14th. Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes shared a similar fate today. The Canadian was eighth in the first round and had a good chance to achieve the second Top 10 result of his career, but he also lost some ground in the final and ended up 26th. Simon Ammann, Vincent Descombes Sevoie, Jan Ziobro, Noriaki Kasai and Jurij Tepes didn't gain positive experiences today on the normal hill for the next Winter Olympics. They were among those, who failed to qualify for the final round of the Top 30. Overall it was a positive test for the facility of the Olympic Games 2018 in PyeongChang, the Korean organizers did a very good job. Athletes and fans can look forward to great Olympic competitions at this venue. Kamil Stoch remains in the lead of the overall World Cup with 1280 points, followed by Stefan Kraft (1220 points) and Daniel Andre Tande (1119 points). For the ski jumpers the World Championships in Lahti (FIN) already start next Wednesday with the first official training. Full Results Here

  9. Japanese double victory in Pyeongchang Sara Takanashi took the win in the second competition of the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping in Pyeongchang. One day after Takanashi already secured the overall World Cup victory she proved her class once more with jumps to 99,5 and 97,0 meters and 215,1 points. Places two and three went to teammate Yuki Ito and Maren Lundby of Norway. 53rd win for Takanashi Takanashi said: „I am very happy, that I won this 53rd World Cup on the Olympic hill. The conditions been very difficult. I had to focus very much on what I have to do.“ Yuki Ito delivered the outstanding moment of the day on the new Olympic hill. With 111,0 meters she performed a new hill record in the final round and came back from 4th place after round one. Ito was only 1,5 points short of the victory. She said: „In the final I was quite lucky with the wind. But also in the first round I was able to do a good jump. I have a good feeling for this hill. But in order to achieve something here next year I will have to do a lot of work.“ Tricky wind in Pyeongchang On third place Maren Lundby was struggling with the wind conditions. After 103,0 meters and a clear lead after the first round, 94,0 meters in the final were not enough for the victory. 210,2 points and the third place still should give the Norwegian huge confidence for the upcoming World Championships. „It was very windy and difficult today. But I was able to keep it together and show good jumps. The result is important because it feels good to know what is coming up at the Olympics next year. As for Lahti, I hope I will make two good jumps and hopefully finish on the podium. That is my goal.“ Klinec falling and still 4th Ema Klinec of Slovenia left out on her second podium finish in Pyeongchang due to a fall in the final round. With 101,0 and 102,0 meters she still came in fourth despite the fall with 187,7 points. Yuka Seto completed an almost perfect Japanese team performance with 172,9 points on 5th place ahead of Germany´s Ramona Straub. Julia Kykkaenen of Finland did even better than on Wednesday and finished 7th ahead of US girl Nita Englund. Tikhonova in top ten Sofya Tikhonova of Russia came in 9th and celebrated the second top ten result of her career, Slovenia´s Maja Vtic finished 10th. The young German squad with Gianina Ernst, Luisa Goerlich and Agnes Reisch came in 11th, 13th and 15th. Natasha Bodnarchuk of Canada secured World Cup points on 19 position ahead of teammate Atsuko Tanaka. Oceane Avocat Gros was best French athlete on 22nd place. Next stop: World Championships In exactly one week the ladies have to face the qualification for the individual competition of the World Championships in Lahti (FIN). The next and last World Cup will be held on the legendary Holmenkollen in Oslo (NOR) on March 12th. Full Results Here

  11. actually there were more skiers also Grigorieva Oettle Reyes Barahona also didn´t finished the qualification and in the top Chiara Archam didn´t finished both (Qualification and also DNF todays finals)
  12. the best strategy would be to try to be 30th in this 1st round

  14. your Steffan Wnkelhorst currently 2nd in the mens qualifications
  15. Day 3 of the EYOF. A french day with 6 medals, 3 of them golds, won only today , Historic gold for Luxembourg and very very cold weather with extremely low temperatures. this was the 3rd day of the Eyof in Erzurum. This night it´s expected around -36 degrees in Erzurum, this is also the reason why the girls slalom was moved from originally planned a night event to this morning. all results are in our Results Database From Slovak view it was so far our best day with 3 top 10 results. Our Figure skater Silvia Hugec unfortunately droped from 5th place she had after the short program but still finished in a very nice 8th place. Henrieta Horvátová showed a very pleasant performance in the biathlon pursuit missing only 1 target and with shooting record 0+0+0+1 moved to the final 10th place ! Very nice result of both our short track speed skaters, Sandra Trusová was so close to the A final, but lack of luck send her together with her team mate Ema Zelinská to the B Final, she won it and finished the 1500m event at very solid 7th place, Zelinská is 11th. 11th finished also Simon Fukas in the mens figure skating event, from the others results a nice 14th and 17th place also to mention in mens biathlon pursuit by Lukáš Ottinger and Tomáš Sklenárik. Viktor Slezák after terrible shooting was 35th, among girls Veronika Heidelmeierová 31st and Mária Remeňová 35th Tomáš Gerat DNQ for the snowboard cross event from the qualifiers, and from 2 our girls only Zuzana Jakubčová finished the slalom at 24th place. Andrea Šafáriková DNF 2nd run. Tomorrow 4th day our athletes will compete in the mens slalom, both classical Cross-country skiing sprints, 500m girls short track event and our hockey team will face the unbeatable Russian team in the semifinal, but assuming they will mainly try to save the lot of energy they can before the Fridays bronze medal match.
  16. Paulína today with the 18th fastest skiing but unfortunately 3 minutes penalties was too much today. In overall we failed today because of shooting, the same for Gereková with relatively decent skiing but same shooting performance as Paulína Fialková. Her sister Ivona was even faster during the first half of the race but then missed 4th and 5th target in 3rd shooting and apparently gave up since her times in last 2 laps were less better, but still overall 34th fastest skiing is very good for our youngest team member. pitty only Paulína finished on points.. In the Nations Cup we are still 17th some 218 points behind 16th USA and some 275 points in front of 18th Japan. The olympic qualifiers is still undecided since the ex-Russian girls are keeping Koreans chances for 5 quotas still alive, they are right now 21st 803 points behind us... In other hand it´s official that we will have 2 biathletes in the mass start. Nastya Kuzmina with BIB 22 and Paulína Fialková will experience her great debut in this event with BIB 25. however the Kuzmina starts in fridays relay and sundays Mass Start are still questionable, hopefully she will feel good and will start.

  18. Tomorrows Mens 20km Individual Start List
  19. yes sorry my bad, I probably mixed it with some world championships...however it doesn´t matter now This is not one poor day, every race last few years is poor for us, I simply still somehow don´t know to identify myself with the fact that something around 25th place is our best race result in this sport...but unfortunately it´s the true, even this 25th place became to be less and less frequent Zubčič will certainly fight for a good position in the GS. and slalom can be playable too, big teams entering only 4 skiers always open a room for decent results also for other teams
  20. I disagree, Slovakia had always strong women team, look at Nagano 1998, 3 slovak girls in sprint top 10. + the relay finished 4th just few seconds behind podium because of one bad shooting in 3rd ? (not really sure) leg, then Salt lake City 2002 5th place of the relay again finghting for medal untill the end the same 4 years later in Torino 2006 again 5th in the relay. Also in individual events we (I agree not so consistently often) used to perform very well at major events Martina Jašicová-Halinárová won medal at world champs and collected many other mentionable results in important events also she finished 6th in Lillehammer 1994...Somehow Biathlon was always considered as our second strongest and most important winter sport after hockey. but now it´s just one frustration and disappointment following another...and seeing our juniors it will be even worse
  21. Stefan Kraft wins first Ski Jumping World Cup in Korea Stefan Kraft won the first of two Ski Jumping World Cup competitions in PyeongChang (KOR) in an oustanding manner. In the first ever Ski Jumping World Cup in Korea, the Austrian jumped on 138 m and 137.5 m (293.5 points) and took a clear win ahead of Andreas Wellinger (136 m and 136 m; 279.8 points) and Poland's Kamil Stoch (126.5 m and 134 m; 268.2 points). The HS 140 hill in PyeongChang received lots of positive feedback of the athletes, the Olympic Games next winter in Korea will probably be a Ski Jumping festival. Kraft did really well on the HS 140 hill right from the start and it became clear right away that he would be the one to beat. It was the eighth World Cup win for Kraft, the fourth this season. The fact that he was on the podium in six competitions in a row now underlines his outstanding shape at the moment. "It's going really well for me at the moment. I did well here right from the start, also on the normal hill. And I knew that usually I jump even better on a large hill. There are hills where it's relatively easy to jump far and I'm glad that this one here is one of those hills for me", said the winner. And besides the hill, Kraft also praised the huge wind net: "I think this is the best wind net I have ever seen, it's perfect to protect the hill. Of course I want to fight for the top again tomorrow but I'll need to perfect jumps again for that", Kraft was already looking ahead to Thursday's competition. For Andreas Wellinger, who is jumping on the highest level for weeks now, this was his fifth second place in the last seven competitions: "I'm definitely very satisfied, especially with the second jump. It was even better than the first one. Stefan is simply a bit better at the moment, so I just have to improve my jumps in order to keep up with him. It's a cool experience to be here and see the Olympic venue. I can then return here next year with positive experience and both hills are fun to jump. Right now Ski Jumping is a lot of fun, I'm in a good shape and have a lot of self-confidence now before the World Championships", said Wellinger. Double Olympic champion Kamil Stoch of Poland was satisfied with his third place: "I'm really satisfied with the result, but I made some mistakes in the first round. I was much too late at the take-off and I had to fight to jump as far as possible. The second jump was really good, it was that kind of jump I would want to have all the time. I like this hill, because the profile is good for me. The preparation of the hill was very good, especially in the outrun, it was totally flat." Slovenia's Anze Lanisek in fourth and Stephan Leyhe of Germany in fifth provided the surprises of the day. Both had the longest jumps of the day with 139.5 m in the second round and both achieved career-best results. Norway's Daniel Andre Tande really doesn't have luck on his side this season. He was third after the first round but finished only sixth due to bad wind conditions in the final. No wonder he was fed up after his jump. Poland's Maciej Kot (6th), Karl Geiger (9th) and Norway's Robert Johansson (10th) shared a similar fate. Richard Freitag, who was competing despite being sick, came in 11th and showed a strong performance, just like the rest of his German team. Even if Andreas Wank finished only 25th after he was on a very good eighth place after the first round. Pius Paschke was 38th and failed to qualify for the final of the Top 30. Also the Austrians achieved a very good team result. Besides Kraft, Michael Hayboeck (8th), Manuel Fettner (14th) and Clemens Aigner (15th) scored points today. Domen Prevc was 17th and is still struggling to get back in the great shape from the beginning of the season. In the overall World Cup, Kamil Stoch (1240 points) is now exactly 100 points ahead of Stefan Kraft (1140 points). Daniel Andre Tande of Norway is third, followed by the best German, Andreas Wellinger, in fifth with 788 points. The second competition in PyeongChang starts on Thursday at 7:00 pm local time (11:00 am CET). Full Results Here
