Don´t know about anyone, We had one young guy Kartík few years ago competing in lower level categories here and there, but I haven´t heard anything about him for a while now...I assume he just gave up, which would be absolutely pretty understandable, considering the situation in our Nordic Skiing

Pažout isn´t competing he had the shortest jumps of the czechs 5 during training sessions, so he was replaced by Vytrval for todays race. btw the czechs have the youngest team here 3 of the 4 guys starting today are among 7 youngest athletes competing in Nordic Combined at Lahti 2017 what a prospects for bright future

FIS NORDIC SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women's Sprint Freestyle Final Results FALLA Maiken Caspersen -F DIGGINS Jessica -F RANDALL Kikkan -F ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Men's Sprint Freestyle Final Results PELLEGRINO Federico -F USTIUGOV Sergey -F KLAEBO Johannes Hoesflot -F Falla and Pellegrino are World Sprint Champions 2017 Maiken Caspersen Falla of Norway and Federico Pellegrino of Italy are World Champions in the free technique sprints in Lahti Finland. Falla led the way ahead of a pair of American's Jessie Diggins in silver +1.66 and Kikkan Randall the bronze +3.76. For Falla the 2014 Olympic Sprint Champion it was her first individual World Championship gold medal. She previously won a gold medal in Falun 2015 in the team sprint with Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg. For Diggins it was her third World Championships medal and her second silver. She took second place in the 10 km free technique interval start in 2015, and was World Champion in the team sprint with Randall in 2013. Randall completed her World Championship collection with bronze today, after taking sprint silver in 2009 in Liberec, and the silver with Diggins in Val di Fiemme. Pre race favourites Stina Nilsson of Sweden and Natalia Matveeva of Russia went down in a crash on the final curve in their semi-final. The contact earned Nilsson a yellow card and she was Ranked as Last in her heat. Italy's Pellegrino has always been known for his finish and today he came from second place off the final curve to take the gold and become the World Sprint Champion just won year removed from winning the overall FIS sprint title. In the silver medal position was Russia's Sergey Ustiugov just +0.15 behind and in the bronze medal the rising start of the Norwegian team Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo +0.44 back. It's a first time individual medal for Pellegrino who took the bronze in the team sprint in Falun 2015. This was as well a first individual World Championships medal for Ustiugov who previous had a bronze medal in the 4 x 10 km relay in Val di Fiemme 2013. He has many World Junior and U23 Championship wins. For Klaebo it was his first ever World Championships and the bronze medal follows just 4 days after he recorded his first ever World Cup victory in Otepää, Estonia. Competitions continue Saturday with the ladies' and men's Skiathlon events. FIS NORDIC SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hoelzl on top in qualification Chiara Hoelzl won the qualification for the ladies individual competition in Ski Jumping at the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Lahti (FIN). With 96,5 meters and 123,6 points the Austrian took a clear win ahead of Elena Runggaldier and Junior World Champion Manuela Malsiner of Italy. Runggaldier performed a jump to 91,5 meters and came in 9,2 points behind Hoelzl. Malsiner with longest jump Her teammate Manuela Malsiner to 98,5 meters but missed out on the landing and got 114,0 points. Fourth place of the qualification went to Lea Lemare of France with 92,5 meters and 113,7 points ahead of the best Slovenian Spela Rogelj with 112,0 points and Sarah Hendrickson of the United States with 111,3 points. Kaori Iwabuchi, one of only two Japanese girls who are not prequalified, came in 7th ahead of Evelyn Insam and Nika Kriznar. Taylor Henrich in top ten Taylor Henrich of Canada completed the top ten. The 15 year old French girl Lucile Morat can look forward to her first World Championships after a 12th place in the qualification ahead of Germany´s Ramona Straub and Gianina Ernst. Sofya Tikhonova finished 15th and was best Russian athlete. Two Chinese girls qualified With Xinyue Chang and Xueyao Li on places 19 and 26 two Chinese ladies qualified for the competition on Friday. The Finnish hosts will be represented by Julia Kykkaenen who came in 20th, Daniela Haralambie will take part for Romania after her 22nd place. Barbora Blazkova and Marta Krepelkova qualified for the Czech Republic on a shared 28th place. Wuerth, Seifriedsberger and Vogt strong Out of the prequalified ladies Svenja Wuerth, Jaqueline Seifriedsberger and defending champion Carina Vogt made the best impression with each 93,0 meters. World Cup overall winner Sara Takanashi performed 92,5 meters. Russia´s Irina Avvakumova, who suffered a broken rib 3 weeks ago in Hinzenbach (AUT) apparently was still handicapped and jumped 80,5 meters.
