in the second round Spain, Brazil, France, Canada will be at the same group, so 2 of these teams will be out of QF and regarding their quality they all deserve to be (or could be) ..

Brazil beat Australia a few days ago. If it wasn't for Canada, we would have chances to go to the Olympics.

"No other chance" his parents are US college graduates, don't think he was living in a hut.

LuizGuilherme reacted to thepharoah in Women's Football FIFA World Cup 2023
I must say Women football has really developed in this competition, there are no punch bags anymore apart from Vietnam , Zambia and Costa Rica , all other teams have left a mark , still we see some silly goals like in SA vs Italy or Spain vs Switzerland , but things are getting better , development of European Teams improved quality of Football in Europe and Africa as well

Also, mixed feelings. On one hand I had hoped for a good result for Brazil, especially for Bruna and her being annoyed with the thousands of morons on Brazilian social media talking shit about the women's team and how only the men's team matters (you know, those guys like Neymar who spend more time acting than playing and get paid millions and millions), but on the other hand, surprises and stuff like that are what make sports great and so Jamaica qualifying is absolutely amazing

Rayssa Leal - Skateboarding
Alison dos Santos - 400m/h
Anyone of the male surfers
Isaquias Queiroz - Sprint Canoeing
Mens football team
Kahena Kunzee and Martine Grael - Sailing
Duda and Ana Patrícia - Beach Volley
Rebecca Andrade - Gymnastics
I think all of them gonna win medals in Paris, there are many others among The favourites but these ones are a level above The rest in my opinion.
Oops, just now i've read GOLD medalists, Alison dos Santos is favourite for the Silver haha

Germany has the easiest group of all the UEFA teams by miles but they will have to play either Brazil or France in R16 already and most likely England in QF so the easy group comes with a price anyway.

Marketa Vondrousova beats Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-3 in the first women's SF.
Over in the girls tournament Alina Korneeva is into SF so still on course to win her third junior GS in a row. She plays Nikola Bartunkova next.
Renata Jamrichova is also into girls SF @hckošice

Ok, explain that in more detail because prima facie it makes no sense.

I don't know how to imagine that but it sounds awesome

LuizGuilherme reacted to thepharoah in Tennis ITF Wimbledon 2023
i watched the end of the match and i don't find any reason for this booing , Azarenka for me is even an American more than Belarusian as she's living there since many years , she married an American and fought with him on American courts , so that some bullshit from fans , for Azarenka she did the right thing she knows very well that she won't shake hands so there is no point of going toward her and not shaking hands

LuizGuilherme reacted to Makedonas in Tennis ITF Wimbledon 2023
The British Wimbledon crowd was completely ignorant and rude with their treatment of Azarenka. I thought these people were supposed to know about tennis. Are they that oblivious?
This is why Sabalenka waited at the net in Paris for Svitolina. I don't think anyone should be booed in these sensitive situations, but definitely not the players who actually want to shake hands!

LuizGuilherme reacted to OlympicIRL in Athletics WA Diamond League 2023
The last 3 Olympic champions all competing today in the men’s pole vault (Lavillenie, Braz and Duplantis). That’s something you don’t see very often in athletics. I love it when the former winners continue to compete and add a rich history to an event
