Never mind, everyone is now withdrawn from both the duet and team events after multiple Greek artistic swimmers tested positive despite no symptoms. I guess it was the wrong decision to bring Platanioti to Tokyo even after her two negative tests.
 
So sad for our girls. They only qualified because of Japan getting the host spot. I don't think we will ever get another chance 

I'm positively surprised how quiet this thread got after a pretty worrying start

This was a couple days ago. It was already known that Tokyo was the last tournament ever for Paula Pareto and she confirmed her retirement. In my opinion, the best  athlete in an individual sport in this century. This was the welcome in the olympic village from fellow athletes.

Yes, @heywoodumentioned it. When he was 10 months old, he hit a pan with boiling oil and it fell over his head and shoulders. He was hospitalized for months.
 
Also, the last time that a Brazilian individual won a medal on track at the Olympics was in 1988, so he broke a long lasting curse for us.

Finally, we are competing at the World stage. We have not been lucky enough to watch our Golden generations live. Dhanraj Pillay, Dileep Tirkey, Sardar Singh and so many others gave us hope only for us to falter. Still remember the way we missed out on Semis in 2000 due to last minute goal by Poland. The heartbreak of not even qualifying in 2008. The ignominy of finishing last in 2012. The so near yet so far of 2016. Finally, we are in Olympic semis. I know, we have not won a medal yet and there is a chance we won’t win a medal this time but by God this feels special. Suddenly all the shooting and Archery misses seem trivial. Thank you Manpreet Singh and team. Thank you Graham Reid. Thank you God.
