    bad news for Italy...

Aaron Kostner had a nasty fall during a training jump earlier today in Ramsau (AUT) and most likely he badly injured his left knee...

for sure, he's going to miss this weekend's competitions in Austria...

more details to follow, after undergoing an MRI in the next hours...

Euro handball is also a useless event, Italians wanted to participate but they have been told that they didn't qualify, that's a disgrace for the competition! I can play handball and I have the right to be in! #BoycottEuroHandball

Yes, she is. Moved to Austria with her mom (who I think met a ski instructor there and married him) when she was three years old

    Thanks @Olympian1010! ☺️ It's a shame you couldn't watch the live streaming.
About my race, you lost nothing. It was a shit day ?
Misses were gotten by stupid mistakes (good position, wrong timing: on prone, first miss was like 1cm away; second miss was on the edge. On standing, both misses away (shot faster than I should) and all hits on the prone target) and, skiing with 4kg on my back is something I need to get used again. I had power to go faster, but no technique by easily losing balance for being not used to race with the rifle on my back, so I felt stuck on the track. Saturday is gonna be another experience and I hope in Obertilliach I am already used to that again.
Thanks to everyone who was cheering

For anyone interested, here's what my prediction model suggests on medal chances for each event in athletics. I may have to change to a hybrid model for long distance (5000m, 10000m, walks and marathon) events as quite often the pace/strategy is different in each race. The low number of competitions for some athletes caused a couple of weird results so hopefully they continue to compete in 2020. Below are the athletes with a greater than 50% chance at winning the gold medal in an event.

    Caster Semenya - Women's 800m - 99.21%
    Katarina Johnson-Thompson - Women's Heptathlon - 81.91%
    Daniel Stahl - Men's Discus Throw - 79.45%
    Kenenisa Bekele - Men's Marathon - 74.30%
    Yulimar Rojas - Women's Triple Jump - 69.93%
    Shaunae Miller-Uibo - Women's 400m - 69.11%
    United States - Men's 4x400m Relay - 64.21%
    Pawel Fajdek - Men's Hammer Throw - 62.18%
    United States - Women's 4x400m Relay - 57.65%
    Will Claye - Men's Triple Jump - 55.80%
    Malaika Mohambo - Women's Long Jump - 55.50%
    Brigid Kosgei - Women's Marathon - 52.18%
    Shaunae Miller-Uibo - Women's 200m - 51.51%
    Karsten Warholm - Men's 400m Hurdles - 50.75%

This is a global world, you don't have to buy drugs in the country where you live. C'mon, athletes travel all over the world these days. It ain't the 50s.

from any point of view people might look at it, today is just another very sad day for Sports...

we have one of the hardest sentence ever taken against a whole Country, theoretically and morally producing enormous damages but in practice being another farce, not really sweeping Russian sport movement and authorities away...

moreover, we have a political trial producing a political result against only 1 of those "big cheaters" clearly caught cheating, but the other guilty parts are still there (Salazar? NOP? they are not competing...athletes are..and people like all those who dominated middle distance running in the last few years are still there and still are the only medal candidates for the Tokyo Games...and of course this is only one of those major scandals that should have had a different exposure and countermeasures)...

so, we can't even think for a while: "justice is done", because that's not true at all...

really, just a very sad day bringing on injustice rather than justice...

I think I've finalized the code (at least for events with timed/measured results) for the medal prediction project I'm working on.

You can see the men's 100m example here

Overall I am able to limit the number of athletes from a single nation. Therefore, for the men's 100m it now has three athletes from the United States. Currently the three best performers are listed, but it can easily be changed to the actual team once the selection process is complete. Let me know how you think it looks on the site.

Very sorry for the delay! Wanderer has been very busy in the last weeks and I first had the time now to check all the predictions. With that said, here is the final standing of the 2019 ATP & WTA Finals prediction contest.
With some great predictions by @Dolby, in especially the ATP Finals, the road to a gold medal was paved. Second medal in 2019 and the first of gold. Congrats, @Dolby!
Another medal for @africaboy this year. Solid predictons in both ATP & WTA finals secured him a well-deserved silver medal. Second silver medal of the year and third medal for 2019. Congrats, @africaboy!
It has been some time since @Gianlu33 last participated in a Totallympics Prediction Contest and what a way to come back to Totallympics Prediction Contests! He adds a bronze medal to his collection. An excellent performance by him throughout the contest.
Welcome back @Gianlu33. Hope to see you in more prediction contests next year. Congratulation with the bronze medal in your comeback.

When will @heywoodu win a medal? He was close this time with a 4th-place, but yet again he has to wait another contest in his effort to step on the podium in a Totallympics Prediction Contest.

Thanks to all who participated! Women's Handball World Championship is well underway and will conclude this year's prediction contests.
We will soon know who will grab the last medals of 2019. Stay tuned!

A couple of general news. Firstly, the general standing of the 2019 Totallympics Prediction Contest season will be done between Christmas and New Year. Secondly, Totallympics Prediction Contest will likely see some changes in 2020. You will soon here more about these. The Prediction Group would advise all users to keep an eye on the Prediction Discussion thread here in december.

P.s. @Wanderer. If you see this, please check your PM-inbox as soon as possible.
