Continental quotas will be allocated after the qualification tournament in Paris  , it is secure

a) team sports: always Oceania and Asia all together...
b) individual sports with 20 or less spots per discipline available overall: same as team sports...
c) individual sports with more than 20 spots available overall per discipline: AUS and NZL still competing among the Asian Nations and 1 spot for the remaining smaller Oceanian Nations if there are 21 to 32 spots available overall, 2 or 3 spots (depending on the interest and the general competitivness among the other Oceanian Nations...no free spots gifted to the Pitas of this world) if the spots available are 33+
 
however, the best solution would be no Continental representation at all...the X best teams/athletes in the world in any given discipline should go to the Olympic competition...
but I fear that's not an option for anybody...

The square union in principle is for Israel but my question is who would be the 1st book union, because the following are the Dutch and Spanish 2 and have fallen into the same round of repescas. If the Israelite classified in the 2020 world or would have a vacancy for who would be the square of the 1st reservation?

Matter of opinion. Boxing will always be a sport on the fringe. I think Sport Climbing is great edition and that Skateboarding is overdue. I’m not a huge fan of Karate, but I think it deserves a place because it is unique from other martial arts. Surfing and Breaking have no place in the Olympics. The Baseball/Softball tournaments are too small.

Late teenagers or people in their 20's. The real 'kids' probably just want to see stuff they do themselves and I never see anybody breakdancing here. Also, skateboards were cool 15 or 20 years ago  Now it's video games or, heavens forbid, watching videos of people playing video games.

you know, I think that  certain things can't and shouldn't be changed...
 
such long time existing events like the Olympics must follow the flow they've always been following...
 
they're made of and for a certain kind of people, of and for a certain kind of audience and they should exist only if and until those people are there to justify their existence...
 
meanwhile if you want to look for something else, just build some new events tailored on the "new" audience you're "stalking"...new places, new disciplines, new rules new targeted markets and people around...that's the only way to capture all the attention and have success...
 
it's not a house you can renovate and rejuvenate with only a few partial works...here it's about an ancient monument that has to be preserved as much as close as the original building on one side and a completely new complexe that should be built from the foundings to the roof with all new stuff on the other side (and then, just then find the way for both to co-exist in the same environment)...
 
there's no way you can have all the modern technology if you live in a 16th Century Castle...gotta build a new house and let the old place to those who are still OK with the old habits...

wow VERY disappointing, I hope one day they learn they can't FORCE "youth" to enjoy the Olympics. this is just not for everybody. the Olympics will have its fans unless they ruin it like this.
 
this is a terrible news for Karate athletes. I mean these sports are amateur. Olympic can make a huge huge difference for them. imagine you are a 20 years old Karate athlete probably was planning for the next olympics. this is why I hate adding sports just for one edition.

they should undestand that those kids are definitely NOT interested in watching anything on TV, they hate any sort of "rule" and "burocracy" (which any sport competition is basically about...you just can't have a competition without them)...
 
they've never been, thay are not and they're never gonna be the "Olympic audience"...
 
the IOC must not search for a new kind of audience, they should only enforce and make happier and more loyal those who already are their long time fanbase (which is the most antithetical people you could imagine if compared to the target of stupid things like "gender equality" and above all "urban & youth")...
 
it's exactly the same mistake the American baseball is doing with their core audience...they're trying to destroy the game as it's always been to look for people who was never into it and never will be...and the only result they're getting it's that they're losing fans among their usual fanbase and they're not finding what they're looking for among the possible new markets...
 
in long terms, that's just the route to self-destruction...
