heywoodu got a reaction from De_Gambassi in Which Sports Events are you Currently Watching?
Every game in the World Series gets a small article on the general sites, and if something odd happens or a Dutch player does something interesting you'll read it there, but most of the regular season doesn't exist
Of course, like I said, there's always die hard fans for everything, but apart from them baseball (and especially MLB) is incredibly small. Wouldn't say it is 100% ignored, but most people probably won't be able to name more than one team (Yankees, obviously), if any. Dutch competition doesn't get much attention neither.

I tried to translate as melodically as I possibly could, I hope the users that pay attention to lyrics will enjoy it

I guess @heywoodu probably needs a special reminder.

If you're not familiar with things, I honestly don't know why. It's all about how someone reacts to them and how they are asked (if someone would ask me in a friendly way if I'm a gypsy, why not answer friendly?).

Because he had a super thin skin and didn't understand that not everyone knows everything and thought getting angry would be better than simply explaining it

If I were Vetter I'd start making plans for what to build on a Finnish island... (this)

Pedersen was 'allowed' to lose 7 seconds (a bit more), but after almost 7km he was 6-7 seconds faster than Roest, so there was no excitement whatsoever about who would win. Until all of a sudden, Pedersen crashed into the boarding. He stayed down for a bit (laptime of 50 seconds because of that), got back up and continued in a rather impressive but hopeless way, eventually still beating Kramer but losing 15 seconds to Roest.

BTW, I sort of liked this race. I'd have liked a different winner, but Bjoergen definitely had to claw her way back and give it her all in the attack, instead of just saying 'bye' and that's it like in Pyeongchang.

"Cities are full with no-go zones" is exaggerated 'propaganda', but I have no doubt there are European cities where there are indeed neighbourhoods where, as an 'average European', you just don't want to walk around. Especially not if you're a woman, on your own, because that's against the 'law' certain people think counts there.

Beat the Finnish javelin record at June's Paavo Nurmi Games, get an island

With Röhler and Vetter it seems possible to have a bit of Finland in German hands after all

I have to say, on TV this championship looks spectacular. I actually kind of wish the IOC / ISU allowed that kind of setup for the Olympics (would certainly save a lot of money over building an oval, too).

An educated guess would say this is in Salt Lake City's local time, where it's 8 hours earlier compared to CET. So my guess would be today's program starts in 35 minutes with the women's 1000m.
