heywoodu got a reaction from Maxim Fastovsky in Formula 1 FIA World Championship 2023
I've been to Spa twice, which was kind of fun, but it was hellishly warm and Spa is notoriously awful in terms of infrastructure around the track, especially at the height of the Verstappen-hype it was just....too much. Tens of thousands of people and basically one little road towards the one highway.
I'm not sure about the support program in the North American races. If it's F1 only, I wouldn't go, personally I'd be more happy to see F2 and F3 as well since they usually have a bit more action.
In terms of visibility: there should be big screens on several places to follow the race, but once pitstops have started, it might be a bit hard to really keep track of how things are going.
I know this all doesn't sound too positive But it is still a nice experience overall, especially Montreal does seem like a nice place to go to for a race.

Feels like another pretty boring season, where Red Bull is way too dominant for comfort and Perez should not be able to challenge Verstappen. Here to hope Alonso can snatch a race once more. It has been ages.

Too bad, they choose the fairly boring one instead of the one with the hummingbird
Thanks for the news though, always good to stay up-to-date on the world's flag changes

Martinique’s Council finally approved an offiial flag for the region, after the last design’s adoption was annulled.
Martinique’s flag
From what I’ve read this design is to be used on par with the French flag, the latter taken precedence over the first, but for sporting and cultural purposes the new design may be used.
So if there’s no inconvenience, and pending further news, I suggest to replace the current icon in the forum.

This whole thing shouldn't have been in place the way it is anyway. What the federation should have done is say they're not going to support anyone going there, but athletes who want to focus on their sport instead of the politics are free to do so.
Not like it's new for federations to be busy with entirely other things than sports though...anyhow, this will probably be worked out eventually, I doubt this will result in her being out of the team forever.

While saying they, and I quote, "are saddened to see she has made herself part of a political game". No, you did that, idiot federation. She literally just went there to go boxing. "I don't fight for the Netherlands, I fight for myself", she said, and that's the way it is.
I'm all fine with the Dutch federation opting to not represent themselves there, but making life so difficult for individuals who do want to go and compete...that's low. #TeamDeCler

Lovely drive by Perez, took his chance at the restart brilliantly
Too bad Aston Martin fucked up Alonso's podium by having a piece of equipment touch the car during the 5-second penalty, but also rather bad of race control/the stewards to wait until after the race to give Alonso the 10-second penalty, which they could very easily have given right after the safety car. Something NASCAR does way better than F1, pit stop infringements and such usually result in a penalty within a minute or two.

And with such a catchy tune as this one has, it's still stuck in my head

I'd probably say Barcelona, although Rome may have more Eastern European interest. Seoul will be very Asian heavy, and I can also see the South American races have a few big names. Can't find any entry lists online, which is quite surprising at this stage. I can only find one stream too, it's for the Barcelona Marathon which is on Eurosport.

I'm just catching up on the last session now so I want to hand out a final few thank yous to those who gave some votes to the Irish song in the evening session:
@hckošice thank you so much for the 5 points, a lovely surprise to start the session
@Hipooo wow, thank you for the 9 points from Czech Republic! Another lovely surprise from Czechoslovakia after the points from Slovakia
@IoNuTzZ yay! Thank you for the 10 points from Romania to give us a full set of medals! So glad you liked the song
@Cobi thank you to our wonderful host for finding a place for the Irish song in the Spanish points
Congratulations to Italy on another TISC win, very well done! Enjoy the celebtrations!! @Henry_Leon@SteveParker@Pablita
I want to also wish a huge well done to our silver medal winners on a first ever TISC podium finish, how exciting for @Finnator123
And congratulations to @catgamer on bagging another medal for at our contest! Well done
I didn't get to spend as much time as usual watching the contest unfold. It was a big day between celebrating my parent's 52nd wedding anniversary and an Irish Grand Slam victory in the 6 Nations tournament
But even in what I did manage to catch I can tell this has been an outstanding edition of the contest and one with lots of drama and excitement. I want to say a huge thank you to our wonderful host @Cobi for delivering a fantastic Grand Final and for welcoming us so to his beloved Spain
Go and have some well earned rest now, you deserve it!
And finally thanks again to everyone for joining the TISC family once again and continuing to make this contest great and something to look forward to. No matter where you have finished today, you have played a part in making this contest a success and I am grateful for your continued support.
See all later in the year for the TISC Open 2023!!

The Barkley Marathon is such a weird niche in the world of sport and I'm incredibly intrigued by the concept, and the crazy endurance athletes that survive their attempts at it every year. The various youtube and Netflix documentaries are all recommendations. I can barely fathom that people are actually out there doing these survival challenges like the Barkley, Marathon des Sables, Moab 240, Tor des Geants and various others. They make running the 100-mile Ultra Trail de Mont-Blanc look like a piece of cake.
There was a great attempt by Jasmin Paris this year as well, who became I believe the first woman to complete four loops.

I mostly responded since he decided to laugh at your previous post, and then claimed that this is somehow ''very important real world news'',no real disrespect towards the event.

GOODBYE, SEVILLA!
Before we end the ceremony with the winning song, I'd like to thank all users for their participation and support, and especially @mrv86for organizing the draw, @Olympian1010 for helping with the Team Event format and @vinipereira for the improvements made to the logo. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed preparing it. It has been a pleasure to have been able to contribute my grain of sand to the history of TISC.
Congratulations to all the users who have met their expectations with the results and encouragement to those who hoped to be in a better position. In 6 months you will have a new opportunity, so don't get discouraged .
Yesterday we started the opening ceremony with the first seconds of the Barcelona 1992 ceremony, so what better way to put the finishing touch to these 6 weeks of competition than with the performance of Sarah Brightman and Josep Carreras that closed the first and last Olympics held in Spain. Ladies and gentlemen,
Amigos para Siempre

Italy's song would be an absolute fit in the Eurovision as well, really that kind of song where the crowd would really get going

¡Hola!
Espero que os lo estéis pasando bien. Mientras preparaba mis votos vino un invitado sorpresa e hizo un lío con la plantilla.
Hi! I hope you are having a good time. While I was preparing the template, an unexpected guest arrived and messed up everything.
