Universality athletes are only allowed to start in one event though, irregardless of whether they have OST or not.
 
Invited OST athletes can participate in multiple events, but only if they get specifically invited for all those events.
 
So to summarise, only the OQT and relay athletes are allowed to start in their OST events without special invitations.
 
EDIT:. Ah, they changed it after Rio. Universality athletes with OST may start two events after all.

I guess they called it "Universality" invitations just because of no Slovak swimmer achieved the OQT. But both invited swimmers have OST in both events. In fact 7 Slovak swimmers achieved OST in different events this cycle, FINA picked the two (M+W) with the closest times to OQT, and allowed them to race in 2 events each.
 
But I am not very familiar with the whole swimming qualification format, this is just what I understood from our medias, NOC and Slovak Swimming sites.

The shift from top lists to Rankings was driven mainly by the miracle results athletes get in obscure meets in the last few days of qualification. Hence, very high A standard and after that rankings. But, it has clearly failed because 1) still too many miracle results and 2) Pandemic resulting in many athletes not taking part in enough good competitions. 
 
I personally feel the old system, basically top lists, is simpler and better but do understand why WA moved to ranking based system.

If one thinks current qualification system is not good, they can propose some discussion before the document released for next Paris period. Each member could propose some preferred system including taking results point into account only or purely by best performance raking.
 
The fairness I refer to is that once the qualification process is confirmed, everyone should obey it. You can't process this system for almost 2-3 years but find that you may exclude/excluded on the last week then you say it's unfair I think it should be counted by Toplist ranking instead of Road to Tokyo ranking and I would be qualified based on that ranking list.
 
Basically the fairness I mean is that no matter the qualification system good or bad. It should be implemented equally for everyone and it should not give wild card for someone yelling it's not fair and I would be qualified if based on another qualification system.

If I remembered correctly Ulitina already qualified since the original list by the virtue of 4 women players in multiple event (Lauren Smith, Selena Piek, Gronya Somerville, Doha Hany). Ulitina is 42nd in that list, the last spot. The Wiki removed Marin but hasn't added Azurmendi as her replacement.

Sajan Prakash has qualified for Tokyo. He has become first Indian swimmer to go below OQT. 
 

Day 1 has Women's 49kg Weightlifting, Women's 10m Air Rifle and Men's 10m Air Pistol. If we end the day without a medal, I would rage quit the Olympics.

Ok, I was wrong. WA has decided to not conduct the 5th place tournament and instead give the quota to  on basis of QF performance.

A lot of sports have bad qualification process but I think Weightlifting is among the worst. Only 4 per gender per NOC, complicated process, additional restrictions due to doping, very lengthy qualification timeline not giving much chance for youngsters and/or athletes with injury. I am sure other users would be able to list other problems as well. 
 
But, on the plus side, this time around atleast we didn't have athletes lifting less than their bodyweight qualifying for Olympics. 

IIRC, she has a decent chance at a medal.
