    Bestmen 101 for beginners:
Step 1: Berate the host and make his life unnecessarily difficult
Step 2: Claim that people only vote for their neighbours
Step 3: Claim that people only vote for songs in English
Step 4: Claim that people only vote for 'emotional songs'
Step 5: Claim that no one on this forum has good 'music culture'
    Step 6: Scream conspiracy
Step 7: Finally get a point or two and commend said person on having very good 'music culture'
    Step 8: Repeat

You can say this song has been an inspiration to me to continue taking part in these contests despite time constraints, low points in previous contests and being the only Indian participant.

I entirely agree with you on the first part of this quote. Semenya, Niyonsaba, Wambui, etc, are most definitely women. A complicated situation where it's not wrong to study possible unfair advantages, yes, but that doesn't mean they're all of a sudden men or should be called men. The advantages require study, the fact whether their male of female doesn't, because they're female, that's merely a fact.

Not all African women look the same, obviously. But it's not racist, at all, when one would say it can be difficult to see if a certain athlete (no matter their nationality) is athlete A or athlete B, because both of them have the same nationality (meaning the same colour of clothes), the same haircut, the same length, the same running style etc. In athletics most of these cases happen to be with Kenyan athletes, in cycling it's usually even Dutch athletes I can't tell apart on the TV cameras because with helmets on many of them look alike. If they were wearing the same clothes I couldn't keep Susan Kuijken and Lynsey Sharp apart, merely because they're both as white as snow, both have the same hair (in model, colour, length, everything) and even their faces are alike. In exactly the same way there are (mostly women's distance) races where I find it rather hard to tell apart one Kenyan from another.

Yes, racism and everything is a problem, entirely agreed. It's also a problem that (at least in my country) it's become nearly impossible to even talk about it, because a large majority is either on the 'everything is racist' side ("you don't agree with me? Oh you're a filthy racist!!") or on the 'nothing is racist' side ("Saying black people are stupid is not racist, it's normal!"), anything in between is sadly just ignored or put in one of the two sides anyway. Oh well, I guess that's part of today's world: everything is drawn into extremes more and more and even people you basically agree with will accuse you of all kinds of stuff because you're not going far enough.

Fully agree. I personally believe, that instead of having too many contests with delayed results, it would be better if we had only 2-3 contests but with timely results and enough time to predict.

I know, this isn't about me (I just copied the same predictions I had already entered on Atstat earlier in the week so it was a matter of minutes  )

But I'm fairly sure quite a lot of users wouldn't really have it in their mind that on day X at hour Z championship Y starts. You only see and notice that when the prediction thread is opened
Another option that just came in my mind might be to open the thread with only the 1st post well in advance, and then post the post with the templates when it's done, so the thread is already there and people will already be reminded of it.

Anyway, more time = better participation numbers = good

Here is a thought: If some country feels that it wanted to bid for 2028 games and is being cheated, say it out loud.

Fact is there is not a big line of eligible cities who are interested in hosting Olympics. In Asia, big 3 (China/Japan/South Korea) already are hosting Olympics in near future. Rest (India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Middle East) have question marks on ability to host and/or are not interested. Same with Africa, South America and Eastern Europe. Australia has already said not interested. In Western Europe, German and Italian cities have potential to host but there is little public support for potential bids. So, that leaves the loser (US/France) of 2024, Spain, Canada and Mexico as only potential bids. And I am not seeing any opposition to this proposal from them. So, lets chill and enjoy 2 Olympics in cities which can host a grand event.

Congratulations to our first Fencing prediction contest winner and it's an Indian this time !!
Congratulations goes to @Dolby ! Congratulations team   India for their first Gold Medal this year !

Our Fencing champion @Dolby began the the contest in 4th position and never left top 3 being on top on Day 4 and most importantly for the final Day 6 He proved that he really deserved this gold medal
Congratulations once again @Dolby for this first gold medal, first overall for him and for INDIA

On the second step of the podium stands Italian @Dunadan  who despite a 21st position on Day 1 jumped to the podium which he didn't leave until the finish switching between all 3 places before ending second hopefully for him.
Congratulations to @Dunadan for his first Silver Medal, his 4th overall and 13th for ITALY !

It was a tough race between Gold and Silver medalist since they had to get to tie-break to determine who wins which medal !
Same thing happened for Bronze race. There were no less than 9 ties in this contest

On the third step of the podium stands newcomer Brazilian @juliosilva who jumped between 6th and 8th places during the first four days of the contest before coming 4th on Day 5 then getting the bronze on final day on tie-break with best predicted Gold medal winners in front of Ciromennella99 .
Congratulation to Our Bronze Medalist @juliosilva for his first medal , first this year for BRAZIL !

So again another unlucky Italian in 4th place : this time it's @CiroMennella99 who lost the bronze on tie-break .

Nice tournament also for @heywoodu (5th) and @SteveParker (6th) and @titicow (7th) who were not far from Bronze either .
      Best represented teams in top 10 : Team   Italy with 3 players (as always) in top 10: @Dunadan (2nd), @CiroMennella99 (4th) and  @SteveParker (6th), then team  Brazil with two: @juliosilva (3rd) and @titicow (7th) .

The only perfect picks was in made by the champion @Dolby   .

Finally, I hope you enjoyed this first fencing contest and to see this sport more often

Now please stand up for the national anthem of India !

Less than 12 hours for the new contest (Asian Men's Volley) isn't too little time? Especially for all users that want play but aren't online in European night .............

However if day one will be "freezed" (not count), for help other users to join it, could be fair (for me)

I've made this spreadsheet to keep track of all medals in World Championships in olympic events in this olympic cycle - to have an automatic medal count, filter by nation, sport, etc.... I know I won't have always the time to update it, but if anyone wants to help, feel free to do it
