    Women's Individual Ranking Round

Where I find livescores? 2) How many athletes qualified in next round?

Event is yet to start. Men's Ranking Round will take place at 0900 Rio Time and Women's Ranking Round will take place at 1300 Rio Time.

Hopefully, official Rio website should have livescores. Also, we may find live scores at World Archery site. All the athletes will qualify for Elimination Rounds. Today's Ranking Round is to determine the seeds, according to which draws will be made.

India had for most of our olympics a flagbearer from Hockey ...but the last few olympics as our hockey team has slid down we have people from Individual sports but I am shocked about football

No football player selected as flag bearer is not at all surprising considering 1) only few stars as the tournament is basically U23 and 2) football tournament is already underway. Majority of football squads might skip opening ceremony.

In the prediction contest there are two colombian athletes in mens -62k category, but on the start list i can only see one athlete from Colombia, is it even allowed for one nation to enter two athletes in the same category?

Yes. A nation can enter two athletes in one category. In fact, in London, there were couple of cases of gold-silver going to the same nation (China in 77kg Men and Iran in +105kg Men)

Rafa confirmed yesterday about his participation in MS & MD. Reckoning he should opt out of XD now :fingers:

Check Tennis Qualification thread. Spanish user has posted that Nadal will play all 3 events. Also, for seeding purposes, it doesn't matter if we are 3rd or 4th. For medal purposes, some lower ranked teams of singles players would be equally formidable. So, in either case, lets not worry too much.

Mixed doubles .....with so many pull outs ......bryans , federer , any news on the seeds for mixed doubles ????

Sania/Bopanna would have combined ranking of 11. The only possible pairs with lower CR are Spain (Nadal/Muguruza) and 2 French pairs (all 4 of Garcia, Mladenovic, Mahut and Herbert are in top 5). So, I think, we would be seeded 4th. Suddenly medal seems a real possibility.

That depends on the amount too.

As expected, Narsingh has to undergo another test before he is cleared for Rio.

    Quote

To ensure the drug isn’t there in his body any more, Narsingh will have to go through another dope test.
Only if he clears that will he be allowed to board the flight to Rio.

I saw in Totallympics that Fatma El Shernoubi of Egypt received wild card in womens 1500 m athletics. Egypt also has 4 more participants in athletics. Can you explain what kind of quota is that?

Universality quota. No Egyptian women qualified and hence they were eligible for one quota in women's section.

Indian express says since it was not a wada ban - there should not be any problems.

I am not sure. My understanding is that WADA has the authority but as I said, Narsingh and WFI seem very confident, so maybe WADA can't over rule NADA or they are certain WADA won't.

I am hoping NADA has taken everything into consideration and not given a purely emotional decision. For example, for how long does the substance, for which he tested positive, stay in the system?

    Seriously?

NADA has accepted conspiracy angle. They have decided to not give any ban to Narsingh considering his past track record. I think even now, his entry has to be ratified by IOC (since it is beyond registration date) and WADA. WADA has the authority to overrule NADA and hand Narsingh a ban.

But, WFI and Narsingh seem confident that he will participate in Rio.
