So today I ran my first 5k in 36:47.

It's nothing nothing to write home about, nevertheless it's a decent prep for a local B2Race next month for which I have entered.

It's a team race, and there is no doubt that I will be one of the discard scores.  But hey, maybe I'll get to pick a medal for somebody else's work, in a true business style!

    Completed my second 5k. 33:38.

I knew there was a lot of time left in the bag, as the last time I only aimed for a completion, but still I am pretty pleased with the time.

This is all on treadmill though. I have zero clue on how it translates outside. It will be a steep learning curve.

Good work @dcro! A team race is a great way to get into running.

Interesting how they can find TV time for women to race longer, while they can find no such thing for the interval races.

    Aaaaand it's getting worse......

Polish ESC fans started targeting Ukrainian jury members on social media.

    Why?

BECAUSE THEY FOLLOWED THE RULES OF EUROVISION AND TRIED TO VOTE PROFESSIONALLY

I'm so done with this stupidity. Ukraine is fighting a fucking war, ESC fans are becoming more and more insane every year.

Death threats to the specialists that were working on Eurovision in Italy, massive cyber-bullying campaign against Switzerland for just fucking singing his heart out.

But yeah, TIX got death threats last year as well, only because Keiino didn't win. I'm honestly hurt that such a contest breeds so much toxicity.

I got attacked on Twitter for not liking Spain and Serbia this year, people need to separate the fact that disliking a song doesn't equal your country is trash and I hate it.

Yeah, the whole let's get inspired by Taylor Swift's "Willow" borrow the melody, the vocals and bring an acoustic guitar on stage didn't work out too good this year.

But in any case, you guys qualified to the final in 2018, didn't you? I REFUSE to believe in an alternate reality where people didn't vote for Franka.
  9. Wow!
dcro reacted to Werloc in [OFF TOPIC] Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Everybody gets only a single vote and you have to vote through the app where your passport gets ID'd to battle diaspora voting and the closer that the country you're voting for is to the country you're voting from, your single vote loses a percentage of validity.

Let the absolute chaos shitfest begin

Just wait until the Dear Leader hears about this.
He will "express grave concern" about the "gender diversity, youthfulness and urbanity" of the IBA and then appoint a 12-year-old refugee to be President

I know it's late replying to this now but I am just going through the thread to gather stats for the TISC history thread and I thought this would be an interesting one to check out:

Having 8 nations still pointless after 6 rounds of jury voting is on the upper end of the negative scale, but it isn't in fact the record. TISC Open 2015 takes that unhappy crown with a whopping 10 nations still pointless by that stage in the voting! TISC Open 2016 on the otherhand was very generous in its points distribution  as every single nation was off the mark by the time jury 6 finished voting!

     Edition Nations Still Without Points After 6 Juries Voted  TISC Open 2013 6  TISC Annual 2014 4  TISC Open 2014 9  TISC Annual 2015 3  TISC Open 2015 10  TISC Annual 2016 2  TISC Open 2016 0  TISC Annual 2017 4  TISC Open 2017 6  TISC Annual 2018 6  TISC Open 2018 4  TISC Annual 2019 4  TISC Open 2019 3  TISC Annual 2020 3  TISC Open 2020 5  TISC Annual 2021 4  TISC Open 2021 6  TISC Annual 2022 8
Also @Vektor you asked after 5 rounds of jury voting if:

At this point, Ireland only had 3 points and as the stats below show, this was indeed the worst start for Ireland both in terms of points scored and point-per-jury average (PPJ):

Edition Number of Points for Ireland after
    Jury 5
    P.P.J. for Ireland after Jury 5  TISC Open 2013 20 4.00  TISC Annual 2014 18 3.60  TISC Open 2014 31 6.20  TISC Annual 2015 29 5.80  TISC Open 2015 14 2.80  TISC Annual 2016 26 5.20  TISC Open 2016 40 8.00  TISC Annual 2017 12 3.00  TISC Open 2017 24 6.00  TISC Annual 2018 9 1.80  TISC Open 2018 23 4.60  TISC Annual 2019 47 9.40  TISC Open 2019 14 2.80  TISC Annual 2020 16 3.20  TISC Open 2020 30 6.00  TISC Annual 2021 20 5.00  TISC Open 2021 15 3.00  TISC Annual 2022 3 0.60

While the whole hockey planet is preparing for the World Championships which will start tomorrow in Finland... in the other part of the globe, organized a mini-3- teams-tournament in the huge St. Petersburg arena, a former USSR championship

You imagine, the arena full of enormous former soviet superstars like Tretiak, Mikhailov, Kasatonov, Datsyuk etc.. and super happy fans waving russian flags, celebrating and pushing their glorious national team to the triuph against opponents from and

Yes, because to the complete shock of local authorities declined the invitation for obvious reason (since they prefered to play the world championships) They just added the Russian U20 Nationa Team to the tourney.

Interesting was that all naturalized Canadiens and Americans suddenly disappeared and Belarus fielded a roster completely of BLR born players for the first time since the invention of wheel, their head coach, the Canadian Woodcroft is still here, he even signed a new deal with BLR federation for next 2 years.

The fact that the guy is a bit disoriented was generally well known, but that so much ! This is really surprising, he even mentioned after the matches what a marvelous chance, what a great opportunity for his young players to shine in such huge tournament...

Team Russia obviously won the tourney, The local TV showed how the captain received a beautiful trophy infront of super excited local fans

No single mention that world hockey continuing to live without the Russians/Belarussians and it will hardly change anytime soon…

If anyone interested here the results

    Great stuff, @dcro!

I'm back on the half marathon plan. Have struggled a bit with injuries during the year but I'm at 16 km so far meaning that it's getting retty close.
I don't expect to get close to my PB from the first lockdown, but about 2 hours should be possible and just making it through a half marathon mass run will be great!

There are more stuff left to update, but here are the updated all-time Grand Final and Team Challenge medal tables.

Spain became the 24th nation to get onto the podium, and 12th to win.

Ireland did two birds with one stone. They picked up the only missing color for both Grand Final (silver) and Team Challenge (bronze).

No nation has won their first team medal in Hungary. We are still at 43 all-time.
