  1. I'm watching through the youtube channel Sports5, they have livestream for lots of sports. I'm currently watching China vs Vietnam volleyball, going to switch to Philippines vs Thailand few minutes before the match start, I hope that our team can give a good fight.

One of six African countries to host 2025 WorldAthletics Championships :woot:

We are talking with Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco — those countries have the facilities

    here

I want Algeria to host it's the only country out of the choices that has stability at the moment, morocco too but are they rich enough to afford hosting?

  3. Denmark open and world junior championship just ended. China is a total flop in both competition. What ever happened to this team after the olympics. Lin Dan is the God of badminton but he's definitely done playing shitty tournaments, why is there no youngsters to replace him. And why is Wang Shixian not playing anymore, she's very pretty she needs to play again. :wall:This thread is dead, why is no one posting. :pope:

WADA Statement on German television documentary alleging systematic doping in China during the 1980s and 1990s

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has seen the 21 October documentary by German broadcaster ARD alleging systematic doping in China during the 1980s and 1990s; and, questioning whether such a system may have prevailed beyond these decades. The allegations were brought forward by former Chinese physician, Xue Yinxian, who is said to have looked after several national teams in China during the decades in question.

While WADA was only formed in November 1999 as the international, independent, agency tasked with combatting doping in sport, the Agency will ensure that, if action is warranted and feasible under the World Anti-Doping Code (Code), the necessary and appropriate steps will be taken.  As a first step, the Agency has asked its independent Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) team to initiate an investigative process in order to collect and analyze available information in coordination with external partners.

The Code, which first came into being in 2003, is the core document that harmonizes anti-doping policies, rules and regulations across sports organizations and countries around the world. Prior to the Code, anti-doping efforts were disjointed and uncoordinated across sports and countries

WADA trying to stay relevant by starting a pointless investigation lmao. European countries will probably be fragmented already by the time WADA come to their senses and realize that their phony investigation will lead to nothing.

Another futile attempt to discredit the Chinese success in sports. Such attempts are rightfully bound to end failure.

I really feel sorry for Wang Shixian. Missing out on second Olympics in a row despite being in top 10 in World must be heart breaking. :(

Apart from He Bingjiao, Sun Yu is also very good and still young.

Me too, Wang Shixian is my favorite female badminton player, I was rooting hard for her to get an Olympic spot. :( Since she already retired, I just want her to have a happy life, maybe get married already with Chen Long. :p

So Tang Yuanting sort of retired too since she's not a part of the national team anymore, she's going to continue her university studies.

Chinese players who retired: Zhao Yunlei, Tian Qing, Yu Yang, Wang Yihan (age 28), Wang Shixian (age 26), Tang Yuanting (age 22 :yikes:) and maybe Wang Zhengming(?).

The difference between India and China is that the former is a democracy  with other social and economic priorities, while the latter is a one party state which is able to direct it's resources in whatever direction it chooses in order to project itself in the world.

According to China's own journal the Beijing Review  the country has 85 million disabled people which is more than the entire populations of most of the world's nation states. This vast pool enables them to compete in almost every Paralympic class in each sport which other countries cannot do. China did very well. My only point is that it should not be surprising given the massive advantage they enjoy and it certainly isn't amazing as you described it.

Looks like our standards when it comes to what is amazing is different. The fact that my country of 100 million people only won one bronze in these games is already amazing for me, it surely wouldn't hurt if I see China getting 107 gold medals in this paralympics edition as an amazing feat.
