I feel like people would vote for these in "Sport Moment" of the year. I remember that the 7x1 match in 2014 won the award, and that moment was kinda surprising (not the defeat, obviously, but how hard Germany trashed Brazil).

Hello, everybody! I thought that maybe it was a good idea to bring back the Totallympics Awards. For those who don't remember (or weren't here), these awards were presented in 2014 and 2015 in the old forum and celebrate the best of the year in sports. As I don't have those records, the 2022 edition can now be considered the first?
 
Anyway, I hope many of you have interest in participate (I will be adding the voters names in the second post). It's allowed to campaign in this thread for your favourites. Suggestions are always welcome especially in "tricky" categories like Breakthrough, Youth Athlete, Sport Moment of the Year, and the Olympic Spirit award.

I don't feel I am scammed whatching a football WC. We pay electricity anyway, but instead to watch stupid things at TV, as politicians, wars, Ukraine or Russia I prefer to see a football match even with low quality everyday. I don't even know if the Ukraine - Russia war it's over or not, and I live at 100km near Ukrainian border. I don't watch TV except sports and I'm not interested in any other news. Maybe your life is miserable. I can live very well with my salary, I have two cars, a house, an active life with friends. And maybe the fact that I don't watch TV makes the life more easier and better for me.

2. Munich 1972 - Ivan Patzaichin - in the qualifying race for the 1972 Munich Olympics, when during the race, immediately after the start, his paddle was broken. 3. 4. London 2012 - Alin Moldoveanu won gold in shooting. Totally unexpected and very surprising for Romania.
5. Beijing 2008 - Constantina Dita-Tomescu won the women's gold in marathon race. Maybe the most surprising gold medal in Romanian history.
