  1. It's not as if though Japan doesn't want to mass vaccinate. It just didn't have the vaccines. Pfizer will now start to supply huge quantities from May. Japan are supposed to get 100M vaccines from Pfizer in May-June. And if there is no vaccine hesitancy, then we may be seeing atleast 50M of the population fully vaccinated. 40% is a good benchmark and will decrease the case count hugely. They say that by September they will have enough vaccines from Pfizer to fully vaccinate the whole country. Not only Pfizer but Astra Zenca and Moderna are conducting trails in Japan and by May 20/24 (I forgot the exact date) decision will be taken on those vaccines too.

The numbers are going up ........we were before going into the lockdown doing about a 100 cases a day ....... After one week of lockdown we are hitting 600 cases a day....

One good thing is number of tests have gone up as per ICMR our nodal body for testing we have done 50000 tests till March 31st ...      .. ( almost double the tests done by Japan)

Our average testing is around 4000 tests per day currently with around 100 private test centers doing tests ........ ICMR believes we now have a capacity to do 12000 tests a day which half what South Korea is currently doing....... I think two manufacturers have been given the license to manufacture kits each is claiming they can develop 10000 kits per day, also we are attempting to import kits.......... Will keep the group posted....

Yesterday the number of tests conducted is 8345. And the capacity is way more than 12K. ICMR is mostly counting the capacity of govt capacity. Lalpathlabs one of the first private labs which got allowance from ICMR to perform tests at that time said that they have a capacity of 1500 per day. We cuurently have about 180 labs of which about 50 are private. But the main problem for private labs is lack of test kits, as this is the news till 3-4 days back.

More manufacturers were given the nod but the 2 were actually Indian companies so it's in the news. And ICMR directly allows some other manufacturers which have some other countries accreditation like FDA.  ICMR is clearly prioritizing locally manufactured kits as kits are not coming from other countries as the wait list is too long. Around 3 weeks back when ICMR said that they only have 150K tests and ordering about 1 million more test kits from different countries, 3-4 days back news is that only the order from South Korea is delivered and they are still waiting for the rest to be delivered. Last week many orders went out from ICMR which amounts to about 2.2million kits and all are made in India. And among the 2.2M about 500K were asked to be delivered in 5 days of the finalization of the order. The 2 Indian companies which got the nod are Mylabs and kilpest. Mylabs currently have a capacity of producing 150,000 kits per week and they have signed  up 2 partners yesterday with which they say they are increasing the production to 2 million per week soon.

This means that Indonesia is not rich enough to provide more tests for their people. More tests should be conducted daily to combat the virus.

No, I am not talking about that. I am asking about the bolded one " Indonesia is the second largest country in the whole".

I read the news about Indonesia have only conducted 1255 tests on their people and felt sad about it. Indonesia is the second largest country in the whole and they could only managed ot conduct 1255 tests. That is way too little and very dangerous. It is also said that there are many Indonesian citizens who could not get the test done. There are also people dying in Indonesia before they reached the clinics or hospitals. Very sad too. I have said not many countries can have the luxury of mass testing every day.

You have posted this several times. What does this mean?

I could never be for someone who supports one religious group over another. Well, I guess there’s a difference/line in that case depending on the circumstances. Modi doesn’t meet the qualifications for me there I guess.

I think you’d also be surprised with how through John Oliver can be...

Thorough??? That's the last thing I can see from that video. I disagree with many things that Modi do, ranging from his politics to the current economy but that video is just full of gaping holes.

We have achieved 18 NRs in short course with 1 day to go in this event. Likith have also created 3 NRs like Srihari, I don't think Khade has improved though. If its not an overall improvement our Swimmers must have always done very poorly in short course swimming in the past.

Or rather many have not participated in Short course recently at all

Another 5 out of 7 events India best timing achieved today, NR in short course, this is amazing, Srihari timed 53.63s in 100m bk in long course OQT is 53.83s, really great news in swimming, anticipating the real rise of this key sport in India.

The timings in Short course are generally way faster than Long course.

  9. Shooting starts and India clean sweeps all medals in 10m air rifle women - Team gold and individual gold, silver and bronze. Mehuli Ghosh wins the gold with a world record final score of 253.3 which is 0.4 more than Apurvi Chandela's current world record of 252.9.

  10. Well, you guys discussed so many things and completely ignored one point the IOA cheif said

    Quote

The IOA chief added the Commonwealth body has been ‘undermining’ India and the country is not adequately represented in its bodies ‘despite being their largest partners, population wise.’ “Yet, they don’t consider us seriously. There are 13 committees and there isn’t one Indian in them. There is no Indian in the executive board. Why are we in the system? It’s a colonial thing.”

Now this can be considered a serious question. You have a country which is largest, population wise (Funnily even if you add all the other common wealth nations population it doesn't even add up to India's population.) and is not represented any where.

I don't think Momota was injured, Axelsen got injured in semis

Momota was not injured but he was already a spent force by the time he reached quarters which was quite obvious in round of 16 itself.
