Jasmin Paris has started the 5th and final lap, first woman ever to do so
Ihor Verys of Ukraine was the first one to start the last lap, after 46:06 hours, choosing to do so clockwise. John Kelly followed 15-20 minutes later, counter clockwise (the leader chooses, then it's CW - CCW - CW etc). Damian Hall and Greig Hamilton started their 5th lap barely 10 minutes later, Jasmin Paris also a bit later, just like Jared Campbell. Sebastien Raichon was the last one to enter the last lap, he started after 47:57 hours, three minutes before the cutoff time. He ran the last part of lap four wrong, so had to go back a while to correct it.
Apart from the first part, most of the last lap will be in daylight this time, that should help. Seems likely to have multiple finishers again, definitely helped by the good conditions (and not the usual rain and mud and everything). We'll see tonight

Jinzha reacted to Book in Totallympics Introduction Thread
Hello all!
I'm Book. A long time fan of the Olympics but only recently started lurking on this forum, looking for qualification updates. Thought I'd pop in and start talking now, seems like a fun crowd.
I'm from the US, born in Los Angeles and spent most of my life in Oregon, now living in Massachusetts. My first memories of sports was at a rec center built as part of a parks initiative of the 1984 games. After getting the Olympic bug in 2008 I convinced my parents to drive me up to Vancouver in 2010 where we stayed in Canada just long enough to see the first two heats of 2 man bobsleigh. I was luckily able to get some tickets to Football, Athletics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Modern Pentathlon for Paris, so my Olympic hype is at an all time high right now. Looking for some sport climbing tickets still.
On the forum I hope to be a resident expert on US Track and Field trials and LA 2028 planning, anything Olympics on the US west coast I'll chat to anyone about.

It would certainly be interesting if there were back-to-back multi-finisher years given the reputation of the race. 2012/2013 is the only time it’s happened before (with three and two finishers respectively).
When are you and @brunamoura giving this a go @heywoodu?

Careful study of the past two Olympic Keirin finals shows me a Dutch woman has a 100٪ chance of winning. Easy gold for Van der Wouw

Got the 10km PB that I planned for today. Cut just below half a minute. Felt great but the last 2km were more mind than body. That puts me in a fine position towards my target of 1.45 on the half marathon in just below 3 months. Still a lot of work to do, but it feels great!

Men's 1.500m:
Gold: Sun Long
Silver: Jens van 't Wout
Bronze: Brendan Corey
Hwang Daeheon initially finished first, but hindered his compatriot Park Ji Won, eliminating both when riding in first and second during the race
Very surprising podium with Sun (World Ranking: 20th), van 't Wout (26th) and Corey (29th)!

What I find most odd is that apparently there's two people fighting each other on Wikipedia editing (seriously, come on), but then they take this fight here and post on Totallympics only to post about their fight on Wikipedia
This whole thread is honestly the weirdest and oddest thing (weirder than the death wishes/threats) I have seen in I guess around 10 years of Totallympics

Having a look through the schedule here is some of the big days for Team Ireland
Included a few outside chances here that probably unlikely to medal but not without some realistic chance. On the otherhand I have not included outside chances that may yet come to fruition, for example boxing could have more chances when the team is finalised, men's road race cycling and other outside chances in equestrian (individual jumping).
Overall it looks most likely we will win our first medal on Day 4 or 5 and then with a lot of chances coming on the middle weekend. Our first gold could possibly be on Day 7 in the men's lightweight double sculls.

Jinzha got a reaction from phelps in Sailing WS 49er & 49er FX World Championships 2024
I read in an interview that Annette Duetz from the Dutch 49erFX has actually written her physics master's thesis on the weather and wind in Marseille. They'll have a serious shot at gold this summer and hopefully a medal in both classes 49er and FX!

Hi Group,
I wasn't sure where best to post so thought I would chuck it in here.
I'm new to this forum from the mighty GB. I just wanted to say how much I rate this page and was blown away by the work that has gone into making it what it is today.
I have a love for virtually all summer Olympic sports and have been checking in regularly to see how the shape up for Paris is looking.
If there is anything I can do to help out let me know.
