bmo got a reaction from phelps in Poll 39|100 | Controversial Topic | If you had the power to remove one of the Olympic Sports/Discipline at Tokyo what would it be?
There are 3 sports/disciplines that I could care less about on the Olympic program: Artistic Swimming, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Equestrian Dressage.

bmo reacted to Federer91 in Football European Super League
The biggest scandal in sports is boiling. Various medias are reporting that 12 of the richest clubs have agreed to the Superleague and it will be unveiled tomorrow! Those in question are:
Juventus, Inter, Milan
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid
Chelsea, Man. U, Man. C, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham
German and French teams have rejected the idea.
FIFA/UEFA came out with a big statement, that any club and their players who take part in such a coup will be thrown out and banned from any International, National and National Team competitions and lawsuits for 50 billion will follow.
I hope they do go and ban them all. I am sick and tired of the rich getting richer and all the kneeling that has been done to them in the last 15 years. But their greed is endless.. Case point yet again, was the new CL format that was going to be voted, which shockingly benefits only the biggest clubs and would introduce the Wild Cards, if you fumble in the domestic league..
This thing ruined basketball in Europe and i thought football was way bigger to happen to it, but here we are. I hope they go further and have every Broadcaster that buys the Superleague to never have any other football rights given to them.

bmo got a reaction from Giovanni Gianni Cattaneo in How many medals do you expect from your Nation at the 2020 Olympics? (2021 "A" version)
The goal for the U.S. should be 50 golds & 130 total.

bmo reacted to Triplecast in How many medals do you expect from your Nation at the 2020 Olympics? (2021 "A" version)
W Football will be favored, for sure, but USWNT was tied 1-1 with Sweden yesterday. And Sweden eliminated US in Rio in QFs. Plus, I heard that USWNT did not look impressive. I think UK is going to be a tough opponent.
M BB, will also be favored, of course, but the make-up of the team matters and US Men Basketball was 7th in 2019 FIBA World Cup.
After what has happened this weekend, I should add Swim W 200 FS and 400 FS to the almost certain list.

At first I thought that seems high, but then again there are 33 more events this time than 2016. I always tend to think low, and could foresee as low as 30. Every Games, I think something will happen to take the US under 30 golds, which hasn't happened since 1936.
I thought to myself, what are the surest US golds? Be interested to hear other thoughts
I'd say W Basketball, W Team Gymnastics, W Ind AA, Swim W 800 and 1500 FS, W 100 Breast, W 200 Back, W 4x200, M & W 4x100 Med. Relay, Athletics 200 m, M 4x400, W 4x400, Mixed 4x400, W 400 hurdles, Wrestling W 76KG, Surfing W.

"Diplomatic boycott"
US athletes will go but no diplomats or government officials.
If you have to protest this seems a good way to do it.
Won't have an effect on the team.

bmo reacted to MHSN in Wrestling at the Summer Olympic Games 2020
The great Jordan Burroughs is not going to Tokyo he lost twice to Kyle Dake in US trials . Dake is a two time world champion at 79kg and he was the better wrestler tonight without doubt. but it was just sad to see a great champion like Burroughs leaving the mat like that. he didn't announce retirement in the interview after the match but I believe that was the last time for him.

Official press release from NBC..
NBC OLYMPICS TO PROVIDE UNPRECEDENTED NETWORK COVERAGE OF TOKYO OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY
Definitely a welcome change of pace. Love to see an entire day of Olympics coverage surrounding the Opening Ceremony rather than the usual "we're editing the whole thing for primetime." I'm not normally a morning person, but I'll certainly make an exception that morning!!
