Dennis got a reaction from maestro in Speed Skating ISU Single Distances World Championships 2024
Gold for Schouten, silver for Weidemann and bronze for Sáblíková.
What a great first podium of this tournament with three amazing skaters!

They’ll probably win one or more golden medals, a lot of the events are very close this year. It’s just that Canada hasn’t won many world cups either this year. Canada definitely has good chances in the women’s mass start with both Blondin and Maltais, they have a solid women’s team pursuit team and Ted-Jan Bloemen is one of the favorites for the men’s 10k (especially on his favorite rink in Calgary). A lot can happen on the men’s 500m where one mistake from Stolz could create chances for Dubreuil as well.
This is just a fun prediction, but apart from Stolz and Takagi there aren’t any obvious winners on any of the distances, I think.

And Daleman is still a junior for two more seasons as she was born in March 2007.

Hachinohe City, Japan hosted the junior world championship this weekend:
Women:
500m: 1. Angel Daleman 2. Huidan Jung 3. Hana Noake
1000m: 1. Angel Daleman 2. Emika Miyagawa 3. Meike Veen
1500m: 1. Angel Daleman 2. Emika Miyagawa 3. Meike Veen (yes, it's the exact same podium for 1000m and 1500m)
3000m: 1. Aurora Grinden Lovas 2. Hana Noake 3. Akane Iida
Team Pursuit: 1. Japan 2. Netherlands 3. Kazachstan
Team Sprint: 1. Netherlands 2. Kazachstan 3. Canada
Mass Start: 1. Angel Daleman 2. Patricia Koot 3. Hana Noake
Men:
500m: 1. Kyungmin Koo 2. Yuta Hirose 3. Issa Gunji
1000m: 1. Kyungmin Koo 2. Issa Gunji 3. Finn Sonnekalb
1500m: 1. Didrik Eng Strand 2. Finn Sonnekalb 3. Szymon Wojtakowski
5000m: 1. Sigurd Henriksen 2. Metodej Jilek 3. Didrik Eng Strang
Team Pursuit: 1. Canada 2. Norway 3. Japan
Team Sprint: 1. Norway 2. Canada 3. Poland
Mass Start: 1. Yuta Fuchigami 2. Daniel Hall 3. Taiki Shingai
Another dominant performance for Daleman. And a rather anonymous tournament for the Dutch boys.

Dennis got a reaction from maestro in Short Track Speed Skating ISU World Cup 2023 - 2024
Update after stage 5:
South Korea - 6.677 points (+1.301 points) Canada - 6.031 points (+1.102 points) the Netherlands - 4.681 points (+988 points) China - 4.585 points (+320 points) Italy - 2.818 points (+397 points) the United States of America - 2.776 points (+687 points) Belgium - 1.867 points (+320 points) Poland - 1.692 points (+336 points) Japan - 1.543 points (+306 points) Kazakhstan - 1.477 points (+301 points)
drops one spot after sending the full Junior team because of the Chinese National Winter Games that start this week. The juniors had their own National Winter Games events in January. I assume next week China will be represented by their juniors again.
and had their strongest weekends of the season so far. (for obvious reasons) and disappointed a bit this weekend.
One more event to go in Gdansk before the World Championships in Rotterdam
