So it seems like the dramatic announcement was all to say she is trying out a new hydration drink this year

    Total prediction (19-47 medals)
    +/- 10 golds
    +/- 11 silvers
    +/- 12 bronze

I feel like the day-by-day version made the numbers too optimistic. Some names I'm thinking more like 'one out of these 4 judoka's will probably win a medal', but it shows as a medal chances on 4 days, instead of just 1 expected medal.
Overall I'm a bit more optimistic than the 25 medals I predicted last time, I'll say 30 medals this time!

Just like in the men's 1.500m final,  Park and  Hwang hinder each other when they're skating in first and second place in the A final and again no medals for them.

    Women's 1.000m:

    Gold:  Kristen Santos-Griswald
    Silver:  Kim Gilli
    Bronze:  Arianna Fontana

Santos-Griswold completes the set after her silver medal on the 1.500m and her bronze medal yesterday on the 500m. She also finished first in the 1.000m world cup final standings this season, right before Kim Gilli.

I think this is Fontana's 18th World Championship medal, after already winning 11 Olympic medals and 76 World Cup medals. What a legend!

Schulting doesn't finish after the restart as she's injured, which is tough right before the relay finals as well

A restart after  Desmet received a penalty

Some of the skaters that fell look slightly injured, so I think this opens the possibilities for  Fontana

In the women's 1.000m final, 3 of the 5 skaters ( Kim,  Santos-Griswold and   Schulting) fell together.  Desmet finishes in first place,  Fontana in second,  Schulting gets up first and finishes in third, but no way these will be the final standings.

Only one gold for , the best short track speed skating nation in the world. Just 5 years ago, they won 7 gold (4 silver and 1 bronze). This is the lowest number of gold medals for South Korea since 2001 when they won zero in Jeonju (when China won 9 gold medals).
