They were shown as entered in the results management system, but I see they have been removed now.

intoronto reacted to dcro in Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 Opening Ceremony Flag Bearers
Bleh. We will have flagbearers after all.
Leona Popović, our best female skier in the last 10 years, will be forced to awkwardly share the flag with a cross-country skiing man who got selected thanks to his head coach father, and who of course has no results to speak of and zero future prospects. Yay equality!!!
p.s. Since our male alpine skiers are arriving after the Opening ceremony, our NOC literally had only this one male athlete to "choose"....

Good to pick up 3 points against Honduras to keep us on top.
Big match against the United States on Sunday. Despite playing at home we will have to travel a lot further to get there and then we have to fly back to Central America to play against El Salvador on Wednesday. Who designed this schedule?

I am still completely in shock and devastated by what happened to you both today, my friend. I really wish that this enormous pain and trauma will disappear as soon as possible and that Bruna will recover quickly and return as soon as possible to the normal life. The next Olympics will already be in four years, it will move fast, you will see, and hopefully it will be finally also without that covid, so I wish you so much that Bruna will be able to fulfill her Olympic dream in Cortina and that you buddy will be there as well to encourage and celebrate it with her.
We are all with you @brunamoura Sending a lot of strength

Guess there was some room on the Canada jet too. At least this has once again showed us, that when it comes to the Winter Olympics, nations can reject, accept and rearrange quotas whenever they want, procedures and deadlines be damned.

intoronto reacted to heywoodu in Cross-Country Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022
Long story short: she was on the way from Austria (where she had been in quarantine until today) to Munich, to get tested three times there in the coming five days, starting today. Somewhere along the Austrian/Italian border (Vintl), the transfer we had booked for her (a minivan, her as only passenger) had an accident, a bad one, one might say. Sadly the driver didn't make it, and considering they hit a truck head-on, Bruna sitting in the back (to keep some distance) quite simply saved her life. Transported to the hospital by helicopter.
Broken arm, two broken feet and an unknown number of broken ribs seems to be the damage. Which, considering the gravity of the accident, is barely short of a miracle.
As for me, I'm at home in the Netherlands, which is where we are trying to get her as soon as possible (when medically allowed, of course). It has been a long day of back and forth contact with insurance and Brazilian federation and everything to see what can be done. But, again, the main thing is she's still with us.

TBH I don’t love the “look of the games” so far. I’d say it’s my least favorite since SLC. But that’s of course highly subjective (I loved Vancouver’s, and that one was pretty divisive iirc) and I may change my mind as I see more venues (so far only got a really good look at curling and speed skating).

Japan, no, stop the presses, i am shocked. Not
The best part is of course having the next one in Doha, 5 months after this one Because moving each host a cycle is out of the question of course.

If the IBSF was smart they would maximize their quotas because they are now going to lose them in 2026. Could easily invite the first four in women's monobob to compete..

intoronto reacted to Dennis in Speed Skating at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022
had priority over on the men’s 1.000m.
Could it be that the maximum number of quota was reached and that was the first one missing out, whereas can enter an athlete that already had a quota on another distance?
