  1. Neeraj Chopra finished 2nd in the Diamond league finals. He will have his groin surgery in the off season. Yet another successful season for Neeraj

By finishing 2nd he pocketed $12000 a nice way to end his season. Hopefully he has a successful surgery & starts his rehab for the 2025 season, targeting the 2025 world championships

  2. A good performance from Neeraj Chopra :IND finishing 2nd considering he is not 100% fit & will have a groin surgery in off season.

A nice purse of $12000 for his efforts:rolleyes:

Congratulations to Peters :GRN for winning the Diamond league & concluding a very successful season with another close fought battle with Chopra.

  3. By finishing in top 3 Anderson Peters :GRN  Neeraj Chopra :IND & Julian Webber :GER have all qualified for the Diamond League Finals.
Jakub Vadlejch :CZE had already qualified .

  5. Table Tennis is getting much more competitive. Sweden & France had a great Olympics. There is always Japan Korea & Germany. China may have won all 5 golds but the sport is getting more competitive especially for the minor medals. Soon like with Badminton, TT will become a lot more competitive & will see a number of countries competing for medals.

  6. :IND had a below average olympics so not many positive moments but if I had to pick one it would be Vinesh defeating Yui Susaki in the last secs of the bout. That was a genuinely WOW! moment for me.

As for Paris & the Olympics in general, the biggest positive was to see packed crowds at almost all venues ( particularly after Tokyo) & continuous chanting of “ Allez les bleus” supporting the french athletes.

  7. I am glad I found this forum of sports enthusiasts from around the world . It has become a big part of my daily routine :)

So many knowledgeable sports fans sharing their insights & information in a single place is like a gold mine for me.

Thanks to all the users & admins for keeping Totallympics so active

I will deffo be part of this family & road to LA28 starts from today

  8. We will participate in Flag Football men’s world championships 2024 in Finland from 27-30th August 2024

With Flag football added as a new sport in LA 28 Sports programme, will be interesting  to see how we do in world championships relative to other Asian nations & thus gauge our qualification chances

    We are in Group G

    :ISR :DEN :IRL :IND

Top 2 in each group qualifies for KO rounds.

    Asian nations competing :

    :IND :JPN :KOR :SGP

  9. Day 15- Last day of competition for us. Reetika did well but lost narrowly in her QF bout & our Golfers ended their campaign today finishing in mid table. End of Olympics for us.

We are not active in any sports ( Wrestling & golf campaign ended today. Wrestling continues to deliver medal at each Olympics)

Final 3 athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 2 Golf & 1 Wrestling  )

We finish Paris olympics with 1 🥈& 5🥉
As of Day 15 we are 71st ( which is our joint worst in an Olympic where we have medalled)  in the overall Medal table

    Medalists : (Total 6 medal )

    Shooting : 3

  10. Day 14- Normal Day, where we had very few competition & Aman getting the bronze medal to continue the legacy of wrestlers getting a medal in each games since 2008 was the highlight of the day. Our Men’s Relay team did well & clocked a SB but just missed out on a final qualification.

We are still active in 2 Sports ( Athletics campaign ends , very disappointing overall. Except Neeraj & Sable no one qualified for a Final or did a PB/ NR in their event. )

11 more athletes ended their Olympics campaign today ( 10 Athletics & 1 Wrestling  )

We  have 3 active athletes & have 1 🥈& 5🥉 in our Kitty.

Reetika has her medal match on 11th August if she qualifies and it is a lucky date for us in Olympics.

Lets not talk about Luck please 🙏

7th Aug was supposed to be our most lucky day as we got Gold with Neeraj in Tokyo. Look what happened on 7th Aug 2024 the most cruel day of Indian Olympics campaign in 2024 :(
