    Hey Totallympians,

If you are wondering why there haven't been any updates on leaderboards for the prediction contest, it's because me and my wife are currently having a one week vacation in Athens.

I will post the leaderboards by Sunday and throught the next week.

    Relay Olympic Qualification Preview

    Men's 4x100m Freestyle
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position -
    Challengers -

The big challenger is Great Britain, unless they DSQ again they will likely move into a qualifying position. South Korea and Singapore will also challenge. While the bottom three are in the most dangerous position, they aren't too far off from the rest of the nations.

    Men's 4x200m Freestyle
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position -
    Challengers -

Thailand's spot is by far the weakest and is essentially guaranteed to lose it. Their spot will be challenged by Singapore, Poland and Mexico. The other 15 are in a good position to keep their Olympic quota.

    Men's 4x100m Medley
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position - :FRA
    Challengers -

Hungary and Mexico will be looking to try to squeeze into the top 16. Things are quite competitive with the bottom four being at risk at missing the games. Switzerland isn't competing.

    Women's 4x100m Freestyle
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position -
    Challengers -

While no one jumps out as the favourite to challenge (I think the top 5 all have a chance), there's a good chance to overtake Spain, especially since they aren't competing here. Denmark and Ireland are at risk, but it would take a very strong swim by the challengers to be overtaken.

    Women's 4x200m Freestyle
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position -
    Challengers -

France and Hong Kong are the big challengers. I suspect South Korea will overtake Spain meaning they and Austria are the most at risk of missing the Olympics

    Women's 4x100m Medley
    Qualified -
    Qualifying Position -
    Challengers -

South Korea and Spain are the biggest challengers. I suspect Hong Kong will improve their time meaning Denmark and Belgium will be at most risk of dropping off.

Quite the number of nations competing, but I don't see anyone outside the top 4 challenging and that's being generous. Neither Israel not Brazil are competing here so their results must stand if they want to qualify.

Looking at the men's 3m springboard competition, I think we are probably sitting at between 24-27 quotas:

I think it is likely that  will end up taking 3 athletes in the 3m events. Wang Zongyuan is pretty much nailed on to do both synchro and individual, whilst Siyi Xie is likely to be favourite to get the nod for the second individual spot. The only question then is whether Xie doubles up in the synchro but given Zongyuan and Daoyi are well established pairing, I can see the team replicating their 2012 and 2016 approach and taking 3 athletes.

For , Joules Bouyer and Alexis Jandard will likely take the synchro spot and I'd be 90%+ certain that Bouyer will also be in the individual. When it comes to the second spot, Jandard will need to fight it out against Bisch.

With , we have our established synchro pairing of Laugher and Harding and that won't change as we go forward to Paris. Laugher is also likely to take one of the individual spots. Competition for the second individual spot will probably be among the most intense in the diving squad with at least 3-4 names very much in the mix. At this point, I'd say it is more likely than not that we will use 3 quotas in this event.

Finally, for , the depth of their squad always makes it difficult to guess what their team will look like but again, I think it is likely they'll end up with 3 athletes on springboard. I don't think we should read too much into their results from Doha - they already had the full set of quotas from Fukuoka so didn't really need to peak for this week.

As things stand, I think there are 26 individual athletes we can confidently say are going to be in the women's 10m platform events in Paris - this is likely to be an event where it is pretty safe to assume that the synchro athletes will also be selected for the individual event where they have qualified.
