Still not decided it seems.
First proposals were to just count the 2 best W + 2 best M times combined, but there were some strong opposition to that according to our athletics guru Alfons Juck
Is there any update / link on the subject? The schedule for the Paris 2024 is announced with 35 k mixed team - but still no further clue... just 2 years before the Games.
Not the level of planning expected by World Athletics.

The case of Weng Hao vs. Liu Wang is very marginal.
According to tie break rules:
Maximum of One Quota Place per NOC and/or Athlete Qualifies on More than One Apparatus
In case of more than one (1) quota place per NOC or if an athlete qualifies on more than one apparatus, the following procedure will apply to determine which quota place will be earned:
1. The highest average World Cup points on the respective apparatus from all competitions attended in the series prevails
2. If they remain tied, the best average rank on the respective apparatus in the Qualifications of all competitions attended in the series prevails
As things stand now for tb rule1 Hao is better with 4 times 30 points and once 25 (average 29) - Liu has 3 times 30 points and once 25 (average 28,75). The BIG question is what happens if Hao does not compete in the last event and Liu competes and gets 30 points. The TB rules will not work.

Yes, if he win the champion and the valid average score surpassed Kameyama and Weng Hao losing to Liu Yang. All conditions must be fulfilled.
I see in FIG World Cup rankings that Pommel Horse goes to LEE Chih Kai from TPE. Is he out or qualified via another criteria?
Just checked and realized that he is qualified via Team Qualification. So in that case his results are not counting in the Apparatus World Cup process?

Apparently there are some IFs who would like to have the Games in May/ June, while others are pushing for July/ August date. And I believe IOC also has to ask NBC which timeline do they prefer....
You are absolutely right. NBC will significantly influence; not to say dictate the date window.

Summarizing from previous posts:
There is no international event going on.
Domestic top level, we have:
Belarus has football, handball, hockey and volleyball.
Russia has some volleyball and some hockey.
Australia has a variety of sports still going on. - I found Football A League - additional ones?
There is plenty of football in Africa, Middle East and Americas including Brazils regional cups. - I found Football Nicaragua, Angola and Burundi - more?
Japan Sumo
Argentina BMX Racing (probably cancelled, but not 100% confirmed)
-
Which are the top leagues from team seasonal sports that are still on, even behind closed doors?
I know Turkish footballl league, and maybe Australia NRL and AFL. Anything else that you can add?

Canada has qualified in Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Rugby Sevens, Softball and Water Polo (and will qualify im Basketball, short of a disaster). So no, not only the USA can match that :P
I was not clear enough that i was referring to Mens team sports & Argentina Mens teams.
In womens team sports the situation and the competition level is very different
-
Congrats to Argentina team sports. They managed to qualify mens team in Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Hockey & Rugby sevens. Unique achievement. (missed just Baseball, Water Polo and Basket 3x3).
Only USA could match this.

I have posted two days ago in womens' thread, now in mens' as well:
Kazakhstan was selected as a host country. It was planned that the tournament would be held in the capital of Kazakhstan Nur-Sultan (previously named Astana) in the middle of February (12th – 16th).
But, yesterday, Kazakhstan refused to organize the continental championships. The Government of Kazakhstan suspended all passengers traveling to and from neighboring county China. It also suspended the issue of visas to Chinese citizens because of an outbreak of a new coronavirus spread.
After this government’s decision, the Aquatics Federation of Kazakhstan had to give up the organization of the tournament.
The Asian Swimming Federation and FINA have to find a new solution quickly. The Asian Championships have to be finished before the World Qualifications.

I just can't understand how people expect to have everyone from the big six at the Olympics (even Greece). Just like that.
Whatever happened to actually earning your Olympic qualification...? Like I said, even with 10 teams, women's water polo has it easier than most other team sports.
That is exactly the concern : earning the Olympic qualification. SA players have not swim a single meter to earn it.
-
The following countries were supposed to compete in the Women’s Competition
- China
- Japan
- Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
- Singapore
- Uzbekistan
- Kazakhstan
Surprise Thailand is not listed.

Having SA in the OG tournament will be another negative point for the sport.
1 It will produce negative publicity for the unbalanced matches
2. It will showcase how underdeveloped the sport is outside Europe and North America
3. It will provide negative motivation for highly competitive European teams that have one less place to qualify.
Once more FINA is well below the par, when it comes to Water Polo

Now that qualification through the World Championships is finished, the next events that offer Olympic quotas are continental championships and the World Cup series. Depending on the results of these events, gymnasts who are waiting for a reallocation spot to qualify through the World Championships might have a chance. I'll try to list the possibilities.
Men's artistic gymnastics:
I believe that if we have any changes at all, it could only be Marios Georgiou qualifying through the European Championships, what would allow Jessen David to qualify through the World Championships; or maybe, though veeery unlikely, Andrey Likhovitskiy qualifying in an apparatus through the World Cup series, what would allow Tomas Gonzalez to qualify. However, Gonzalez has a decent chance of qualifying through the continental championships, so Andrei Muntean would be next in line.
Women's artistic gymnastics:
On the women's side, there's just a very small chance of Chusovitina competing at the World Cup series and qualifying through vault, but right now she's not even in a top 10 position. She is known to participate in many World Cup events, though, so she might try to qualify through the World Cup series despite already securing an Olympic quota through the World Championships. Either way, if she decides to do this, Ryan Megan would be able to qualify. Extremely unlikely to happen, though.
I honestly don't think any of these things will happen, though.
I would appreciate some info or link to the current status of World Cup Apparatus rankings for OG 2020 qualification.
Also: Is there any criteria of who athlete qualifies in case the same country has more than one athlete at top across the apparatus? For instance, China may have 3 different athletes in top at PB, SR and PH (men)

is there any information or web link for the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Kazakhstan, next month?

If we're going to mess with regions I'd rather have SEA + Oceania as a region. Asia is already too crowded as a qualification region as is.
That is the most sensible approach.
SEA region (Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) has geographical proximity to Oceania and will provide some depth in competition. It will also give some extra boost to those countries (since they will have to compete one sport giant (Australia) rather than three (China, Japan, South KOrea).
-
- What are the technical and competition rules to be used in the qualification events and in the Olympic Games?
- In essence, the AIBA competition rules will be respected. Any changes and/or adaptation to these rules will be limited to those without a direct impact on the athletes’ preparation and will be communicated by 14 November 2019.

Is there any information available on the draw process of Continental Qualification tournaments?
Is there any qualification standard, will be simple KO tournament and most important: Is there going to be any seeding for the draw - if yes on which criteria?

1. The final score of the three counting exercises will be added and the gymnast with the highest total score prevails
2. The total E-score of the three counting exercises (6 scores for Vault) will be added and the gymnast with the highest total E-score prevails 3. If they remain tied, the total D-score of the three counting exercises (6 scores for Vault) will be added and the gymnast with the highest total D-score prevails

No Olympics (for now) for Petrounias!
EDIT: He needs 90 points at the World Cup series to qualify for the Olympics. He has zero at the moment. China's Yang needs to win only one stage to qualify. Petrounias will likely not be at the 2020 Olympics! What is the case if both Yang and Petrounias reach the same points? Let's say three wins. Who gets the quota?
-
What about France? They have top team, worth qualifying. Does the French Federation promoting points collection?
-
During next three weeks, we will have a close battle between Romania and France for the 3rd quota - direct qualification to Tokyo 2020. and between Mongolia and Iran for the 4th quota.
Unfortunately it is very difficult to follow the changes in points.
Is there anyone with insight information on points?
-
With the qualification fever scaling up across all sports, would it be possible to have an additional table, with all rankings that give direct quota (the link), the cut off date, and a link with the ranking points calculation rules?
That would help follow up the critical last minute quota changes as the dates are approaching (e.g. Road cycling).
Once we have the template, gradually the links will be completed.
